Sorry if this is posted twice.... didn't show up on my news reader
****** Well, I finally stepped on a scale and I am down to 132.5 When I really started my new WOL (I no longer think of it as a diet) I was sometimes finding the scale at 140. I've been kind of monitoring my weight in the morning and evening throughout the past couple of days and am very happy to see that at night I haven't been going past 133.5. Yesterday, I had my first Krispy Kreme donut experience. I was presented with one and was expected to eat it. First, I kinda stuck my nose up at it (food snob, ya know ), but since I have never EVER eaten a KK donut I broke off a one inch piece and tried it out. YUCK. I then had to detoxify myself with a bottle of 100% cranberry juice. ~Liz (think I'll use a sig now) 140(?)/132.5/125 |

But, to each his (or her) own. I think I'm addicted to the stuff. I go through a jug of Ocean Spray every week. You're right - to each his own. ~Liz 140(?)/132.5/125 |

I've been kind of monitoring my weight in the morning and evening throughout the past couple of days and am very happy to see that at night I haven't been going past 133.5. Excellent! Well done. Do bear in mind, though, that your weight does fluctuate during the day, and even during a week - you really ought to weigh yourself at the same time each day, wearing the same clothes (i.e. nothing at all!). Some say it's counter-productive to weigh yourself more than once a week. Yesterday, I had my first Krispy Kreme donut experience. I was presented with one and was expected to eat it. I then had to detoxify myself with a bottle of 100% cranberry juice. Which is full of sugar! I dislike cranberry juice. I haven't tried KK, either - we only have one outlet in this country, in Harrods, and I went and had a look. It was very easy to walk away, they looked vile! I do like ordinary jam doughnuts that you get in the supermarket or bakeries here, but those looked disgusting! -- Annabel Smyth http://www.amsmyth.demon.co.uk/index.html Website updated 18 July 2004 |

I was working in the yard this weekend and the wife thought I needed a thirst-quencher. She brought me a tall glass of cranberry juice and I took half a sip and almost spit it out. It was like drinking syrup. Salty syrup. She said I needed something like Gatorade and this was good for me To make this more like Gatorade, she had added kosher salt. I told her I'd rather suffer until I could get some of water. I haven't tried KK, either - we only have one outlet in this country, in Harrods, and I went and had a look. BTW, Dick Clark (he of American Bandstand) owns that KK in Harrods. --- Remove whiz to email ---- |

Here it is called "Cranberry juice drink", has to be, since it is not a pure fruit juice, but has added sugar (not corn syrup, I think, which is not used in this country) and water. It's too strong for me - I like to dilute it 50:50 with water if I drink it, and I only do if I have cystitis (and it *is* good for cystitis). -- Annabel Smyth http://www.amsmyth.demon.co.uk/index.html Website updated 18 July 2004 |

Although I do like to drink cranberry juice on its own (and this IS real cranberry juice, and not a sugar-laden cocktail - I am not low-carbing, so the fact that it has naturally occurring sugars does not bother me), I often dilute it with water. And, to add to my original post - I actually had a fitness test tonight. Body fat down from 35.7% (Apr/03) to 26.3%. VERY HAPPY. Overall, I was totally impressed with all of my results-better aerobic capacity, flexibility (went from 15" to 21"!), better everything! My BF% is still a little high, but a major improvement. I must be do something right. ~Liz 140(?)/132.5/125 |
