You polluted my diabetes group with OT troll crossposts. You seem to
have learned your lesson though!

Actually, that was the result of the Mu/Chung/Pastorio wars. ASDLC
itself was but another one of their battlegrounds, just like ASD and
the cardiology group. There was no concerted effort on ASDLCers parts
to go annoy the diabetes group. There are a number of members in
common, but that's all.

but less overtly obnoxious than our new resident loon. Loony boy
(aka
Normal) almost makes me miss the Mu/Chung vs. Bob wars.

Bite your tongue!

If you've been reading the diabetes group today you'll see Mu is back.
The Mu/Chung/Pastorio wars have already resumed. Just a heads-up.
ASDLC doesn't start this stuff. We just attract the folks who do.
:-)

Take care,
Carmen

Actually Sleepy is one of the reasons I stopped posting in My diabetic group..
One I have been posting in for two years. One that I used to find a lot of
support in, but got tired of the Atkins Berstein bashing. Even though, thru
Atkins and Bernstein I am able to maintain very good numbers, good control, and
made my Dr extreemly happy. So instead I only read and post over here, where I
have also been posting for aprox two years.

Dontcha just love these Atkins Cultists. I never met such a group of
close minded fundamentalist whackos. Their motto should be "we are
always right, and we wont listen to anyone that opposes our beliefs".
Put a * PLONK * at the end of that !

I went to the local grocery store yesterday, right inside the front
doors was a huge banner that said something about Atkins diet
supplies. Instead of shopping as I had inteneded, I immediately
walked up to the customer service counter. I asked to speak to a
manager. When he arrived, I told him that I have been a customer for
many years, and I will not return to this store again. When he asked
why, I pointed to that banner. I told him exactly how I feel about
Atkins, his diet, and his cult. I told him that if he is advertising
a diet that the AMA and most doctors believe is dangerous to ones
health, causing clogged arteries, heart attacks, and mental health
problems. I went on to tell him that he is not looking out for the
health of his customers, by advertising the Atkins diet, but instead
is selling out to greed. I further told him that he will be receiving
this in writing, and so will his boss at the top of the company chain.
And just to make my point real clear, I whipped out a few 20's from my
wallet, and said "I had intended to spend these here, instead I'll
spend them at _______ (other local grocery). Then I walked out the
store.

So did you do the same thing when they sold ephedra products, cyclamates, joke
diabetic products(by joke I mean the crap they sell that is supposedly geared
to diabetics, but is worse than the worst high carb, high sugar, cookies etc,
the stuff that will only make your glucose levels soar)? I doubt it. Oh well,
so many more products for the rest of us. Also majority tends to rule.. If one
person such as you does this, and 10 other people come in and thank the manager
for finally carrying items that they can safely eat, who do you think they will
listen to?
And I make it a habit of thanking stores carrying lowcarb items. JMO

Translation:
"The other day I walked into a grocery store that I'd been frequenting
for years. The presence of an advertising banner for Atkins' products
brought a haze of red across my eyes and I began to froth at the
mouth. I went up to the customer service desk and began to rant
incoherently about Atkins, cults, the FBI, aliens and mind control
chemicals placed in Girl Scout cookies across the country by the
Rosicrucians. The manager backed away, smiled nervously and assured
me that my concerns would be taken into consideration. By this time a
crowd of bag boys had gathered and a brief flash of common sense
caused me to realize that several of them were roughly the size of NFL
linebackers so I'd better run. I got away by pushing an elderly woman
into a crowd of children. Whew."

God BLESS you for saying that early 50's is "youngish!"

My parents, into their seventies now, are still chugging up and down
hills on their rock hunting expeditions. Healthy, strong, still
taking classes, still going out, doing as they please. Don't plan on
slowing down anytime soon, so, by that standard fifty is young. :-)

Arrest you for fraud and being in possession of stolen goods.

Take down the number associated (tag or sticker), take a picture if
you can of the "invalid", bundle it up and send it to the appropriate
motor vehicle bureau.

Ask for the doctor's name who issued the opinion.

Welcome back Mu. I trust you still have all your OEM (fingers, toes)?
About the fakers: Heh. I think I'd get a better response by mailing
everything to a local TV station as the impetus for an investigative
report. Pick up a rock and the crawly things get all riled up. G

I'd like to see some stories in the media of just such cases. What
most likely happens is the tag holder says "I let them borrow my car.
I didn't know they were going to misuse my permit." Bah.

I see Howard is doing well. My best to you.

Thank you. He's doing alright. Chemo consult is tomorrow with the
local oncologist and today he met with a pain management doctor.
Phantom pain has become a big issue - the amputated hand showed up and
it feels badly mangled and cut and burnt and crushed by turns. Goody.
Once the pain is under better control he'll be doing great. :-)
Lidocaine patches and Neurontin and methadone, oh my! For a man who
only used to have a couple of beers a month there are some *serious*
drugs going into his body right now, with more to follow. Sigh.

Take care of yourself,
Carmen
