My laptop died

My HP laptop computer went into sleep mode and now I cannot wake it
up. Usually I just move the mouse around and it comes back but now it
won't. Any tips?

Because I can:

Hold the power button down until it shuts off then restart it. Is one
way.

Just reboot Richard...If it's frozen hold down the on button for 10
seconds...GG

the only thing I can suggest is to hold in the power button to make sure it
is off then try and restart, and plug it in first, Lee, not remembering how
she used to fix this on hers...

Thanks for the help folks. Seems my brain stopped working.

I rarely use the laptop and always use the AC adapter instead of the
battery. I left the computer running while I did my daily chores,
assigned by my bride, who still works until winter sets in again.
Seems the wire from the AC adapter to the computer was not secured
tight and wasn't making a connection. Meanwhile it was running on
battery and just ran out of power.
