I've been OP since early April, and I've lost 42.4 lbs (yay me). In the
last few months, I've pretty much leveled out to where I'm consistently
losing 1 lb a week. Though, this week I lost 5 lbs and I'm not sure why.

Thursday, day before weigh in, I went to Outback and had a salad with
vinegar and oil dressing, baked potato with no butter and no sour cream, and
a 12 oz outback special. So, while I didn't kill myself with food that's a
MUCH larger than usual meal for me. So, when I weighed myself Friday I was
amazed, and more than a bit concerned. So I mentioned to my wife that I'm
going to check my weight over the weekend, mostly to see if there was any
'bounce back' that could surprise me in a week.

Then Saturday night my wife wants me to go eat BBQ with her family, while I
love her family I wasn't in the mood to burn through my flexpoint so early
in the week. Of course, that got us into a huge arguement where she said I
was acting like a 'woman' and that I was obsessing about my weight. She's
right, I am obsessing, my weight range is 155, I started at 243 and I'm down
to 201. I'm so close to breaking 200 I can 'taste' it.

I love my wife, but I think I have to love myself more. If she can't
understand my motivation than she can go screw.

Would she rather have you healthy or dead? I know things are not that
extreme for you, but do ask her!

And then try to relax. You can do this BBQ thing. A smaller portion of
meat and healthy choices of salads shouldn't mess you up. You NEVER
have to pig out if you don't want to. And if the in-laws remark on your
reduced appetite, explain! It's not the food, which is fab, it's that
you are trying to keep within the bounds of sensible eating and not
gorge!

And while you will lose more slowly, you can do WW 5 days a week if you
like.

It sounds like the arguement was probably more about the family visit
than about your diet. I bet that usually she is supportive.
It's possible that she is now much happier with your shape and doesn't
know why you want to carry on.

So far as barbeques go, you can do some great low fat/calorie stuff,
but maybe not the usual sausages, bread and sauce stuff.

Get a couple of mackerel or trout, etc gutted and cleaned etc. Wrap
them in foil with a very little butter and some herbs. Leave it on the
barbeque till it's done

You can also do something similar with veg.
Carrots/brocolli/cauli/swede cut into small pieces, and partly
microwaved. Put it all into a foil package and leave on the side to
reheat and finish off.

Eat it with a baked potato, and you'll do fine.

If you want to be a bit more traditional get some lean steak and grill
that.

Stay away from the sauces, and coleslaw
