Default Only my 2nd REAL day OP but...

I can already feel a difference! It's unbelievable! I *love* the feeling of
being satisfied- not STUFFED, not STARVING- just right. I am not eating 24/7
like I have been and I'm fine with it. When I get munchies and I'm not truly
hungry, I either drink tea (I drink LOTS of iced tea w/ splenda and that's
my water and it helps curb my appetite) or chew gum.

I actually had a baby NSV today too- every Friday night is pizza night at my
grandma's house and she always has pretzels, chips and dip out before. My
schedule's messed up b/c I've been staying up REALLY late with school work
so today after I got back from class, I sort of slept through lunch. When I
got up I thought I would be hungry but I wasn't at all. Since I hadn't eaten
anything all day (I know- bad me- but I just can't justify eating when I'm
not hungry!) I decided I'd better have a yogurt. That was 2pts. A few hours
later I went to my grandma's and had a handful of pretzels (only 2 or 3 with
dip just for a taste) which was probably about 3pts. Then I was able to have
2 pieces of pizza which, according to DWLZ, was 14pts. I didn't have dessert
there because I knew I could have a skinny cow when I got home so I had a
mint SC for 2pts. I'm under my points for the day (by about 4 or 5) but I am
not hungry and I don't know if I should "waste" them or not? Anyway what I
was getting at was that I had so much will-power today that I even shocked
myself! Usually I mess myself up on Fridays (and Sundays- she does dinner
for everyone with the snacks mentioned above AS WELL AS chips, salsa, salsa
con queso, cheese/crackers, etc and then she makes dinner for everyone)
because I stuff myself on the snacks and then I eat too much dinner. I did
that the last 2 times when I was on WW and I'd just force myself to make up
for it elsewhere. This time I told myself I wasn't going to do it and I
didn't! It felt SOOOO good to come home and know that I did it! This time WW
feels different to me- I'm truly determined. I WANT to lose weight. It's not
going to be easy but it will be SO worth it!!!

Great job with the willpower. It sounds like you Friday/Sundays are hard
nights to stay OP. Have you asked your grandma to include some healthy
choices for you to munch on like some raw veggies and low fat dip? How about
plain cheese pizza for one of your slices to lower the number of points
used? I know it is hard to make good choices when all of the food in front
of you are high points but maybe its time to change the family routine a
little. Have a salad instead of a second slice of pizza. Little changes can
have a big impact on the scale. good luck this weekend.

Thanks for the suggestions Laura. Since I had enough points I had 2 pieces
of pizza. One was pepperoni and it was fairly big and one was a small slice
of cheese. On days where I am stingy on points I can just do the small pizza
slices b/c they are thin crust, too.

As far as healthy alternatives- my immediate family and my aunt (who is
getting married) are the only people who know I am on WW just b/c I don't
like to tell people. It would be hard for me to say that to my grandma just
because it's a hard topic for me to discuss. HOWEVER, what I plan on doing
is having a yogurt or something before I go so I'm not completely starving.
The food isn't entirely AWFUL if I make the right choices. Pretzels and not
chips. Stoned wheat crackers and not the buttery club crackers. Etc.

My other little "issue" is that I don't eat many veggies at all. I have a
major texture problem with food and I can only eat certain salads, etc or it
makes me gag. It's something I have been dealing with for a LONG time and
it's no fun. I get my veggies in round-about ways which isn't necessarily
the best idea but I guess it's better than none at all.

Tonight we have my little cousin's birthday party- YIKES! But it should be
okay b/c I don't think I'm going to my grandma's for dinner on Sunday b/c I
have a meeting at school. Lol. It's even.

Thanks again Laura,
-Kara.

Thanks, Catherine. I'm feeling really good about today so far. We went to
Skyline Chili (for those of you who don't know what it is, it's a HUGE
Cincinnati, Ohio chili company chain that anyone who has been through or to
Cincinnati has probably tried or heard about it at least!) because my
brother is home from college for the weekend. I usually get 2 chili cheese
sandwiches and a small 3-way. Today I got one chili cheese sandwich (6pts)
and I was perfectly fine with it!! I ate it very slowly, drank a lot of diet
coke and left there feeling satisfied. Between that and some oyster crackers
I have had 8pts for the day and I have a birthday party tonight so I can
splurge a little (I do, afterall, have 18pts left) and not only THAT but I
just took an hour long, 5mile walk so I get 3 activity points! Yayyyy!

Yes you are right, Krys. It is my 3rd go with WW but this time feels
different for me. I'm hoping this feeling doesn't go away!

You've done very well. And as for the spare points - you can save them
for a blow-out/party/dinner with friends at the ens of the week, or
write them off to weight loss. Look at what your WW system recommends.

I tend to save a few during the week, and write them and any exercise
points off on weigh-in day.

Hmmm. Good thinking, Lee. I wish I could do that. I used to do Tuesday
meetings which worked because they were far enough from the weekends that I
had time to stay on track but close enough that I was forced to get right
back OP after Sunday dinners. It is sort of nice now to know that if I
splurge too much on Sundays, I have to go ALL THE WAY until Wednesday
afternoons (when I go to meetings now) without any special treats or
splurges and I wouldn't like that.
