After basically taking a whole month off plan, ok, not quite that bad, but
some popcorn here, a chocolate bar there, too many chicken nuggets,
skipping workouts, it is nice to be back on track the last two days. I
even had a salad for lunch, something I haven't done in a good long while,
and it was yummy and I feel healthier already! Ok, actually I feel kinda
crappy, got the fuzzy head and dizziness back, but that just goes to show
how badly I was doing when I slackened up for the last month. Yesterday
was my "back on track" today, and man, the cravings were back. Today's
good though, not hungry at all between meals, and keeping the portions
reasonable. So far just a cheeseburger for breakfast and that salad for
lunch, not even hungry for dinner yet. Yay!

I'm so happy for you, Michelle! I know how bad it feels to backslide, and
also how great it feels to get back on track.

I've had two meals today (the rest of the time, I've been sleeping, because
of pain pills). For breakfast, it was Taylor's Pork Roll and scrambled
eggs. Mid-afternoon, I had some sugar-free jello with cream. For dinner,
it was two cheeseburgers with pickles, but no buns. And a big pile of
homemade coleslaw. Other than that, it's been water and herbal tea.

I've found that it's more difficult to get back on low-carb than it was to
get on it in the first place. For that reason, I'm especially proud of
both of us, Michelle, for being where we are today. One day at a time -
we're doing it!

Hey Luna,
I say "kudos" to anyone willing to pick theirself up , dust theirself off,
and keep on truckin'. I've seen your pics, and your doing one helluva job!
Refocus your motivation on what got you into the LC WOE in the first place.
It works for me anyway. I want my "6-pack" back instead of my "kegger". I
refuse to yell at you and berate you for falling off the wagon, none of us
are perfect. I will, however, be satisfied with telling you that what you
are doing (LC WOE) is something that at times can be very difficult; and to
fall away, but still be able to pick up the pieces and continue towards a
goal, shows a perseverance and courage on your part that not everyone has.

No, I know I know. I didn't exactly "take a month off" I was being harder
on myself than necessary. I didn't go back to eating pasta with every
meal, I didn't have pasta at all. I was nowhere near eating what I ate
before LC, I doubt I went over 100 grams on any one day. It wasn't bad
enough to stall or gain weight, but it did slow my weight loss from the
usual 8 pounds a month to just 4 pounds.

I didn't keep an exact food journal, but I did eat some "off limits"
things. I ate two candy bars last month. I ate probably about the total
equivalent of 10 cups of popcorn last month. I had chicken nuggets as a
meal 5 or 6 times, during the month. My diet was still protein based, I
just had a few too many treats and in between meal snacks. Like I said, it
wasn't enough to stall me or make me gain, but it was enough to bring
cravings back.

This is a learning experience for me. I feel like if I had kept going like
I was I would have eventually fallen completely off the wagon, but
thankfully the cravings and the tiredness were a warning "Danger, danger,
go back!" I slipped, I slid, I recovered my balance and now I'm walking
just fine again. But I know to be more careful.

Thanks!!! I think I may have exaggerated my "falling off the wagon" in my
original post. I didn't go back to what I was eating before LC, not by a
long shot. I didn't add enough carbs back in to make me gain or stall, but
it did make the weight loss slower, and more importantly my cravings came
back. That was the sign to me that I needed to get back to being strict,
no more treats. I feel more like I lost my balance and _almost_ fell out
of the wagon, and now I just need to refocus and hold on tighter.

If you'd start exercising for real, you'd do a lot better.

Huh? You knocking Curves? Don't you go knocking Curves, boy-eee!!!! My
body says it's "for real" when the day after a workout everything aches.
That good ache, not that "I pulled something" ache. There are some really
buff chicks there who don't do any other exercise than Curves, but I plan
to add some more activities in when I'm in better shape, I'm thinking
volleyball and some sort of martial arts.
