Food & Exercise -- 5/28/2007
Today we ate breakfast at our B&B on the Cape, then drove up to
Kennebunkport, Maine via Boston. We went into Boston to have lunch at one of our old favorite places from years ago, the Durgin-Park. Now we're at our B&B in Maine -- a down-homey old inn right on an inlet of the Kennebunk River. Another day of indulgent eating! Food: * 9:00 (Cape Cod B&B): 2 glasses cran-raspberry juice; apple muffin; cup of fresh citrus fruit; baked peach-stuffed French toast w/ maple syrup; 2 link sausages {fancy breakfasts are a trademark of the B&B -- also the one we're at now} * 11:00 (driving): 3 pieces sal****er taffy * 12:45 (Durgin-Park restaurant): 1/2 piece cornbread w/ 1 pat butter; cup of clam chowder; steamed lobster w/ drawn butter; 1/2 portion of Indian pudding w/ ice cream; 1/2 portion of strawberry shortcake {This was a dinner-type meal rather than a typical lunch. We wanted to have the things we remembered so fondly from this restaurant, where we normally had dinners back in the day.} * 4:00 (driving): 3 pieces sal****er taffy * 5:30 (B&B afternoon tea): 2 chocolate chip cookies; 2 small squares raisin sour cream coffee cake * 7:00 (on our deck overlooking the river inlet -- bought from local deli): grilled crab & swiss cheese on rye; 1 Hershey's kiss {from the bedside table in the room} * sometime later: 1/2 piece fudge Exercise: none Chris 262/130s/130s |

Tonight we're in a B&B along the Hudson River in NY, and will be home tomorrow night. We don't usually do all this B&B stuff, but I'm glad we did. It really adds to the experience; each is different, and each special in its own way. This one is a gorgeous old Victorian mansion with beautiful grounds.
