No, the egg is pushed out a hole in the stand, so it never gets in the
accordion. In fact, there's pretty much no maintenance involved, since
any mess winds up on the counter.

I tried it, it didn't work. I returned it to the store. Walgreens had them
last year.

yeah - i do that. still sometimes the are all peely and come apart. i

always
peel under water and it helps alot and I'd say i usually have no prob but
wheni get those messy ones it ****es me off! and sometimes it happens to 3
out of 4 eggs! i end up just saving the yolks.

BTW, the instructions that come with it say to dunk them in ice water.

I was looking into getting one, and then I read bad reviews about it. From
what I read, you still have to peel the part where it starts, and it only
works on eggs that would have cleanly and evenly come out of their shells
anyway (others it makes a mess out of).

I generally peel mine under running water.
