I cheated BIG

: OK, now I'm curious. :-) I've never seen a White Castle burger place (being hopelessly Canadian). How much does a single WC burger cost? How big is it? Never, ever try a White Castle burger. If you grew up eating them, you love them, but it's a taste you had to acquire as a child. I never did, and I think they are the most vile, nasty greaseburgers you'll ever eat. They're tiny, the meat pattie is about 3/2 inch square. It's also got 5 holes cut into it so it will cook faster. They use reconstituted onions that stink to high heaven. Vile, vile, vile. That said, I should point out that one reason I use a screen name is so that no one will ever find out that I posted something derogatory to WC burgers. Those who love 'em, *really* love 'em. I'm amazed that such a thing can sell ... how much do they cost? How many do the regular consumers eat at a sitting? Thanks! White Castle
LOL, I grew up on White Castle and I think they are delicious! Unfortunately
there is so little to them that even if you eat the bun you need a half-dozen or more to feel moderately full. Most people buy them by the bagful. When my son and his friends used to get together and eat them they would buy 4-5 dozen of them them for about 5-6 guys, and got fries to boot. If you are eating only the meat, as a low carber, you'd probably need to eat about 3 dozen of those puppies! They still sell for only about 50 cents or so, but that adds up. White Castle is not a very good LC option! Debbie "Mary Sunshine" wrote in message ... I've never seen a White Castle burger place (being hopelessly Canadian). How much does a single WC burger cost? I cheated BIG

Last night and a full day later my head hasn't exploded, but I'm sure some of you still have hope. I ate 8 that's right 8 White Castle Cheeseburgers AND 10 Chicken Rings! Know what reactions I had? almost none, sure my blood sugar spiked a bit, but I didn't find myself hungry afterwords, nor have I had cravings for it again. In fact I've eaten only one meal today so far and plan to eat a nice cut of meat for din din. Check out http://www.whitecastle.com/ A hamburger or cheeseburger is 9g net carbs, and a chicken ring is 10g. Not **horrible** for a very occasional indulgence, if you can watch how many you eat and what you consume for the rest of the day. I grew up in Chicago, and an occasional after-church lunch was a bag of "sliders", which my father would lay out carefully on an electric warming tray. Even now, when I visit my mom and sister, a trip to White Castle is de rigeur; gotta do it. But I'm bemused by all of you talking about eating a zillion of them; three does me just fine. I'm gobsmacked to see that the web site refers to "slyders." I think that's a pretty good bit of PR on their part. White castle sounds good, I haven't had one for years! Are they 100% beef?
Anyone ever order one without the bun? |

White Castle is not a very good LC option! White Castle burgers weigh one ounce before cooking. Figure 30% loss in cooking. My slight 12-year-old daughter ate 6 of them when I brought her to a WC for the first time. She's not a big eater generally. My son, as a teen, would easily eat a dozen with fries and drinks. I accidentally did that once, too, in my early 20s with the guys on my football team. Ok, Twice or so. Quit pressuring me.
