I need to lose more lbs by end of month! Help please!!!
Good day! I am 4'11, female, 29 years old. I was 108 lbs on October
1st, 2008 and currently 100/101 lbs today thanks to the regimen below. I need to lose more weight for a contest ending Oct. 31st and was thinking of doing a water fast on the last three - four days. Is this advisable/ will I be able to do it and still able function in an office job, driving and all that? Or please tell me what else I can do to lose more lbs. I’ve never done an all out fast but the regimen I started below since Oct. 1st, I believe I drastically reduced my food intake. I don’t have any known illnesses, liver problems, etc. that I know of. The lowest weight I ever had was 95-97 lbs when I used to be a post office carrier (walked/delivered mail 6 hours 6 days a week) Any advice would be great. Please note that I drink lots of water in my regimen below. I just stopped documenting it. Thank you. Regimen started Oct. 1st 10/1 Wednesday – 30 minute jogging, 30 minute walking with elevation 10/2 Thursday – 15 minute jogging, 45 minute walking with elevation 10/3 Friday – 20 minute jogging, 40 minute walking with elevation 10/4 Saturday – 1 hour cardiobox class 10/5 Sunday – 15 minute jogging, 45 minute walking with elevation Oct. 6 Monday – 106 lbs 3 tablespoons oatmeal w 1 packet sugar & fat free lactaid (75% used) water 1 full salad w/ thousand island dressing 1 mini crab muffin 1 tablespoon tuna salad 2 cup peach papaya mango juice 1 mini toblerone 2 mini Hershey’s kisses 15 minute jogging, 45 minute walking with elevation Oct. 7 Tuesday 3 tablespoons oatmeal w 1 packet sugar (75% used) w fat free lactaid Water 3 tablespoons oatmeal w 1 packet sugar & ½ tuna salad sandwich (celery, red onion, mayo, horseradish) 2 mini crab meat muffin (lump crabmeat, bread crumbs, mustard, celery, red onion) 1 dove chocolate banana foster piece 1 dove chocolate dark chocolate piece 1 taco bell taco shell only & water No exercise but walking around mall and shopping Oct. 8 Wednesday 3 tablespoons oatmeal w 1 packet sugar (75% used)& fat free lactaid 6 pieces salmon sushi (the one that has rice underneath) 2 pieces salmon sashimi (this one has no rice at all, just hq salmon by itself) 1 piece only crab salad 4 cups tea Water 3 tablespoon oatmeal w 1 packet sugar and fat free lactaid 1 red apple 25 minute jogging, 30 minute walking with extreme elevation Oct. 9 Thursday – 103.5 lb 3 tablespoon oatmeal 1 packet sugar (75% used) w/ fat free lactaid Water ½ dove chocolate banana foster piece 2 loaves of wheat bread by itself 1 tablespoon oatmeal w/ fat free lactaid, no sugar 10 cucumber slices 30 minute jogging, 30 minute walking with elevation Oct. 10 Friday ¾ cup Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal with fat free lactaid milk 110 ¾ cup Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal by itself – eating throughout day 110 1 loaf of 100% wheat bread with 1 turkey slice 70 + 15 = 85 1 loaf of 100% wheat bread with 1 turkey slice 70 + 15 = 85 1 kiwi fruit 46 10 string beans (?) My understanding is that bodybuilders will abstain from water for a day or so before their exhibition, because the skin will tighten and firm as the body draws water away from the skin for other uses. In the long run, reducing water is not a good way to lose weight. Your body will start hoarding it like crazy. If you're getting enough fluids, your body recognizes it, and you flush all that stuff out quite often. I wouldn't advise any changes. If what you've been doing has helped you lose 8 lbs, keep doing it. You'll lose some more weight by the 31st. A restricted diet suffers from these plateaus every so often, but it's a natural process. The body likes maintaining homeostasis. The goal is just to find a plateau closer to your ideal weight, and then the plateau factor works FOR you instead of against you. But no homeostasis can violate conservation of energy. Keep taking in fewer calories, and your body will soon respond with (probably quickened) weight loss. |

Fast - If anyone has ever told you you have an eating disorder, no matter if you agreed with them or not, no matter that you think they were qualified or not, don't fast. There is a short term method for fat loss that beats a fast. It uses hormonal response to dietary intake in a way that's not obvious. Dr Atkins called it the "fat fast". 1000 calories of 90% fat, 10% protein with a strict limit of no more than two weeks. You could do it at this point. Expect it to be *extremely* boring but at least you won't be hunger. Some blurbs on way it works. Low carb means the water that now goes to storing carbs in the form of glycogen dissolved in water goes away. No stored glycogen, no water to dissolve it. This isn't fat loss but it is pounds loss so it counts against the contest. Low carb means low insulin. Insulin drives fat into storage so low insulin allows fat to be easily removed from storage. High dietary fat means high glucagon. Glucagon drives fat out of storage and this is way a 1000 calorie intake with 900 of those calories from fat actually beats an outright fast in the short run - A fast triggers hormonal starvation modes while the high glucagon is the opposite driving fat into the blood quickly. Your resting metabolism goes up more than enough to make up for the difference. The 100 calories of protein is a rock bottom intake. Maybe egg protein isolate to get a complete mixture of amino acids to make the most of this insufficient temporary intake. There are an assortment of metabolic hormonal reasons to limit the fat fast to 14 days or less. Low protein. History of T3 output dropping on VLC diets starting 14 days in (the primary starvation mode hormonal reaction to drive metabolism down). And so on. |

I need to lose more lbs by end of month! Help please!!!
When I say water fast, I mean, drinking ONLY water and eating nothing
else. However, after thinking everything over, not sure if I’ll be able to accomplish this. So if I continue to eat the way I’ve been eating (please see my original post) but this time upping my exercise to 2 hours a day, starting October 22 – Oct. 29, and THEN Fasting on Oct. 30, do you think I will definitely weigh less than my 100 lbs? As mentioned before, I’ve lost 8 lbs in 17 days and now I’m stuck at 100 lbs. Not sure if I’ve mentioned this but the lowest weight I ever had was about 6 or 7 years ago at 97 lbs when I used to walk for 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, delivering letters. Thanks. |
