Ask and ye shall receive
I've started emailing companies/restaurants/stores whose products I'd
like to eat, but can't because they're so high in carbs. I ask them politely to consider coming out with a line of low carb foods/meals/products. If we all start doing a little bit of this whenever we get the chance, then perhaps things might change. Things seem to be changing a bit in the US (from what I've been reading here) but not so much in Canada. Email your local grocery store, favorite restaurant and major (or not so major) food manufacturer. Maybe if they get enough emails, things will start to change. It's easy, just go to the company's website, click contact us and either fill out a form, or send an email. Remember to be polite, but short & concise. You want to convince the people who are reading your email, to take it one step higher, to their superior or to the boss. You want them to be your ally, and don't forget, they're just people. You can also send regular mail or phone their 1-800 numbers or go in person and talk to someone. Often, they will be receptive to your requests. -- Jim Marnott 231/194/194 (woohoo! goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Atkins since 22 May '03 Gym since 1 sept '03 |

I'll email more places as they come to mind. -- Jean B. |
