I fail to say the difference between most sugar free foods and most
low-carb foods. They both contain dietary fiber and sugar alcohols to
subtract from total carbohydrate. And most of the time they're
cheaper.

The only difference is likely some slimy account executive who put a
"low-carb" label on it so it would be noticed by people on LC eating plans.
What they don't know is that a lot of us figured out there's not much
difference in the actual product a long time ago and haven't jumped on the
LC commercial products.

Many sugar free foods are not carb free or even low carb.

Many have flour, rice, and other starches.
