There was an article in the N&O just a couple of days ago about a restaurant that caters to Atkins dieters. It's [somebody] Dean's. I've been there, just can't remember the precise name. It's on Millbrook at Old Wake Forest. Google the N&O archives and you should find it. Dick Evans |

Seems to be a growing trend among Triangle eating places. Frank |

muttered something like: I'm an Atkin's Newbie. If any of you have some good recommendations for low-carb friendly restaurants or grocers I'd love to hear them. The Kroger's on High House road has a fairly big selection of specialized diet foods, including the Atkins mixes and some low-carb bread machine stuff I've been meaning to try out. -Bertha -- Cut that out! The reasoning I have seen is that nutrasweet causes sweet cravings in
some people. After induction, it is ok to give it a try and see how it affects you. You can mail order from AtkinsCenter.com too, although it is pricy. Plus you must realize that during induction you will just have to give up certain things. Even when you get a low card version of many things, such as bread or cereal, there are still too many carbs for induction. Yu are hardly limited to red meat and greens - you might want to find out a bit more about the diet. Some things you're supposed to give up during induction are caffeine, alcohol, aspartame, etc.. I'm a bit of a coffee addict so I figured that would be the worst part fo r me; I think what I've missed the most is being able to have a glass of bourbon on the rocks after a long day at work. I don't really understand the objection to nutrasweet. |
