Default The exercise I've been getting

I thought I'd put this out there, just to let y'all know what I've been up
to.

I still do the weight machines 3 times a week at the Y. I work at the
summer camp Monday through Friday, which varies from not very active to
extremely active, depending on what activities we're doing. Kickball is
not very active, it's mostly standing around waiting to kick, or standing
around in the outfield waiting for someone to kick it in your direction.
If we're playing basketball, however, or soccer, I'm running around all
over the place. There's another one we play with bases, and the kids have
to run from one base to any other base, and the counsellors try to hit them
with the ball when they're between bases. Because we can only use soft
inflatable balls, they get caught in the air currents so you have to run
right up to the kids to be able to hit them, so that one's pretty active
too. And then twice a week we swim with the kids. I don't do laps, instead
I'm swimming away from the campers as fast as I can because if they catch
me they'll try to dunk me. So that too is pretty good exercise.

I also have a routine I do at home to music. Mostly I'm just dancing
around, trying to keep moving, but I also incorporate wall pushups, leg
lifts, jumping jacks, punches, kicks, and running back and forth in a short
path, changing direction as fast as I can. I read something somewhere
about how that last one is something some celebrity does to work her outer
thighs or something.

Anyway, with all this exercise I pretty much stay sweaty all the time and I
drink lots and lots of water. It's awesome. Every night when I go to bed,
my _whole body_ is tired and it feels soooo good. My muscles feel warm and
tingly pretty much all the time, I'm full of energy, I feel stronger and
taller, I sleep deeper than ever and feel great when I wake up. The more
exercise I get, the more I want to do. Sitting down for any length of time
feels weird, I feel like my body is like that car in the commercials where
the voiceover is the car talking about how much it wants to be driven, you
know? My body's all "Get up and move! Come on, let's go!" This hasn't
resulted in any more weight loss yet, but I don't care, it's fun anyway.

Which one?

So, as an employee, I can

Free is good.

And I'm currently working for the summer day camp
there while school is out. I think the Curves program was an excellent
start for me, because of the simplicity of the program, and because it
dispelled some misconceptions I had about exercise.

Saw the summer camp thing. looks like fun and money in combo.

The workout on the
machines at the Y is just as simple, everything is programmed so I know
exactly which machine to go to next and what the seat and back settings
are, etc. The next step will be learning to use the free weights.

Make me an offer I cannot refuse.

Carl Sanders, in Buckhead.

They wore my ass out today with the running to try to tag them with the
stupid beach ball.

Huh? You wanna be my trainer or something? I'm broke. I'm just gonna
print out some stuff from http://www.stumptuous.com/ and get advice from
the Y employees.

Depending on how you feel about women's right to abortion, you might or might
not want to exercise at Curves.
