Default Help!!1 been on Atkins 3 weeks now and only lost 2 lbs

What am I doing wrong? I was on Atkins 6 mos ago and lost 10 lbs in 1 mos
but fell off the wagon. I am trying again but I just dont see any changes.
Has this happened to anybody else? I am losing faith in the diet and feel
I should give up. I even started drinking water this time around (about 4-
6 glasses) a day. Help!!!

That advice will help them get back on their feet.

Nichole,

Several things to ask here.....all of them will be obvious to long time
low carbers but here goes anyways....

Have you re-read the book to refresh your memory? Did you read it the
first time around?

Are you eating real food or low carb bars/junkfoods/cereals/snacks/etc?
Real food on induction is green vegetables, meat, most cheeses, eggs,
etc......

Can you post several days menu so the experienced people here can
review it ?

Are you cheating? (i.e breaded foods, sugar in your spices, not
counting the carbs in your coffee cream? etc..)

If you answer those then maybe something will become evident as the
problem.....

blessings,

Robin

There's no "wagon". If you follow a low-carb lifestyle, you can control
your weight. The more carbs you include in your diet, the less weight you
will lose.

With the knowledge, you have total control. You can eat one way and lose
weight, eat another way and maintain weight, and eat another way and gain
weight. It's all up to you. You are empowered with the information, now,
decide what you wamt to do.

Didn't you notice the "clue" words?

1. "losing faith"
2. "feel I should give up"
3. 'started' drinking water! (What the ??)

conclusion: fake post.

You're turning the reality of success into the reality of
failure by quitting while you are successfull. That's
what you are doing.

I was on Atkins 6 mos ago and lost 10 lbs in 1 mos

Many experience loss that includes water the first time.
many don't get that extra water loss the second time.

but fell off the wagon.

Why? Fail to answer that to yourself and it will happen
again.

I am trying again but I just dont see any changes.

"See"? What do you expect, realistic success or some
magic pill? There is no magic pill. You ARE successfull
in losing 2 pounts in 3 weeks. The ideal rate to keep
it off is 4 per month.

Has this happened to anybody else?

Very many people. Extremely common.

I am losing faith in the diet and feel I should give up.

If you think losing faith is enough to quit now. If you
think actual real success as in new lows is a reason to quit,
quit now.

Help!!!

What you have experienced is a standard pattern. Is a
standard predictable pattern really reason for quitting?

What you have experienced is success. Is actual real loss
at an actual real sustainable rate really a reason for
quitting?

Or are you just interested in an excuse to sabotage
youself? Sorry, you won't get an excuse to sabotage
yourself from me.

This is another new one from Doug. Never heard this before. And it
would seem impossible, since a lot of the water loss is part of the
glycogen stored in the liver. When you enter ketosis the gylcogen goes
and so does the water.

Not new from me. I noticed what happens with restarters
before I'd gotten a year into my plan. Something I've
been repeating for 4+ years in various forums is not new
from me. New to you, check. New from me, not.

Never heard this before.

You don't track posts so you have no memory of what
happens to various folks. Posts are data. Conclusions
can be drawn from data. I know, scientificly controlled
data trumps just racking posts. So go get some of that
type of data then rather than complain about the quality
of my data based on your lack of any data.

And it would seem impossible

"Seem" pales in the face of the data. Like the OP.
Did the OP lie?

since a lot of the water loss is part of the
glycogen stored in the liver. When you enter ketosis
the gylcogen goes and so does the water.

The piece you are missing:

When someone backslides, is there some immutible law
of the universe that their liver will recharge? It
happens to some, not to others. Folks complain that
going on Atkins triggers permanent changes. This
can be such a change for some.

Watch returners for a few years. Some have the same
rapid carb+water-it-was-stored-in loss on second or
third Inductions. Some don't. It's common enough
that there are even "Golden chance" web pages.
Low carbing works best the first time for many.
