Speaking of shirataki noodles
As a lot of you know I'm always watching out for running
scientific research trials on exercise and low-carb. But while looking through the volunteer listings in Craigslist NYC I came upon a listing that claimed to be from a popular women's magazine looking for women who wanted to lose weight and wouldn't mind being track and reported. The interesting part of the listing was that they wanted the women to use glucomannan to aid them in their weight loss. That make me look into what glucomannan is and how its used. What a lot of people here might find interesting is that shirataki noodles are made mostly out of glucomannan. The research that I've found so far was done on a very limit numbers of subjects, but the outcome was interesting. If you read through the Wikipedia page check out the External link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucomannan. Personally, I've decided to try the supplement to see if it could help in reducing my late night hunger. Also, even though my cholesterol is in good shape, my intake is probably low in water soluble fiber. Has anyone else use glucomannan? -- Rudy - Remove the Z from my address to respond. Speaking of shirataki noodles
----- Original Message -----
From: "RRzVRR" My family had early dinners and then always ate right before going to bed. Even after all these years, its very difficult for me to go to sleep at night if I have the slightest sense of hunger. I've learned to have high fiber (Al Bran) or dense protein (a small amount of chicken breast) if I'm feeling hungry late at night. But I'd like to de-program my late evening eating. This is an issue for me also. The closer I get to bedtime, the more I want carbs. It is the only time that I actively want carbs. Usually I'll eat one Triscuit with a big glob of cream cheese or peanut butter on it, that's all it takes...but, like you, I want to de-program that. If you have any success with that, I hope you'll share . Sherry lowcarb.owly.net |
