Default Aspirin and stroke/heart attack

According to this study, aspirin appears to be more beneficial for men
than women.

I am still wondering why they used a dosage that is not available....100 mg.
We can buy 81 mg aspirins and 325 mg aspirins, but to my knowledge, you
can't find a 100 mg dosage OTC. Why would someone design a study with a
problem like that? They would have to know that people would be likely to
go out and try to start on the regimen.

Good point.

I haven't ridden in a while, due to snow, sickness, and vacation. I was
going to ride tomorrow morning, but it's supposed to rain, then ice, then
snow, then blow. I can't wait for spring!

I must have missed the link to the detailed study, as I find no mention of
the dosage other than "low dosage." I don't suppose there is a huge
difference between 81 mg and 100 mg, especially compared to 325 mg aspirin.

It is spring here in north Texas. The daffodils are blooming, the trees are
leafing out, the grass is green. I saw some wild Mexican Plum trees blooming
yesterday. And, the wind is blowing and it's around 48-58 degrees during
the daytime and we're getting rainstorms all of the time. That last part is
unusual. I grudgingly got out the leg warmers and put them on. I am too
cheap to buy long pants and I don't like the leg warmers because they kind
of bunch up on the backs of my knees (knee pits?). But when you're all
covered up, you can forget the weather for awhile and just enjoy the
ride....

I went to Arizona, and I couldn't believe how many bicyclists I saw -- I
saw more in two days there than I see all year here. Here, it was bad
yesterday, then the wind was incredible. I'm going to the gym today, as
it's 8 degrees plus wind today. They have snow forcase all weekend!
Ugh! For me, if it's near/above freezing, it's not bad; but when it's 8
or 10, that's darn cold. I can ride, but it take me hours to warm up
after that.

I don't know about y'all, but when I go out to ride in the cold, I get an
earache from the cold wind. I get tired of taking a lot of time to just get
dressed! So, I learned last year not to complain about the summer heat. At
least, I can just wear the minimum and don't have to worry about my fingers
not working right because they're too cold, or icy blasts getting inside my
jacket (Monday, I forgot to cinch down the wristbands tight enough), or my
legs turning to ice.

And, adding to all of that, I get sweaty! Bah! The hell with it!

It is weird to be cold yet sweaty at the same time. I can't wait for
Spring, as this Winter is seemingly lasting forever. If I go to Arizona
next year, I'm taking my bike with me, so that I can get some riding in.
South Mountain would be fun to ride up.
