Food & Exercise -- 10/22/2003
Food:
7:15 (driving to gym): energy bar 9:30 (diner w/ Tom): 2 fried eggs; English muffin w/ butter; 8 oz. grapefruit juice 12:45 (work, brought from home): sandwich w/ 4 oz. filet mignon (leftovers) on 2 slices whole wheat bread w/ 1 tbsp f/f mayo 5:15 (driving home): energy bar 7:15 (home): 140g swordfish; 70g frozen peas; 4.5 shrimp gyoza (little dumplings) Totals: 1571 calories, 48g fat (27%), 152g carbs (39%), 128g protein (33%) Exercise: 14 minutes treadmill walking -- while waiting for Tom, who got held up in traffic (It's too cold in the gym in the morning to just sit around waiting.) Dynamic warmup: a. High-knees run 1 court length b. Butt-kick run 1 length c. Skip 1 length d. Walk, touching foot up to outstretched hand with each step, 1 length e. Side shuffle -- 2 lengths (one length leading with each foot) Sprints: 5 * 2 court lengths (trying to change direction fast) Sprint around perimeter of court, rounding corners: 2 times, once each direction Sprint down long side, side shuffle across, sprint down other long side, side shuffle back to starting point: 2 times, once each direction 10 squats on Bosu ball (with flat side on the floor) Standing on Bosu ball, toss soccer ball back and forth with Tom while he circles around me -- around 30 tosses Standing on Bosu ball, holding 5 lb. dumbbells: 5 * (squat while curling DBs, squat while doing lateral raise, squat while doing front raise) -- You stand up between each of the moves, then do the curl or raise as you're squatting down. Also standing on Bosu ball, 10 shoulder presses, squatting as you do each one. (This was hard, and I couldn't extend my arms fully.) Tried some squats on the ball with the ball side on the floor, standing on the flat side. This was harder; I could only do a couple without coming off. I want to practice this. Chris 262/176/??? I think I'll stick to playing with them at the gym. Chris |

I checked them out the last time you mentioned them and they're in the $130 price range. Hmmm....all I would need to do is eat at home one week instead of eating out all the time Beverly |
