good point, I tend to not lose as well if I eat the same things often, Lee
Willow wrote in message ... Sounds pretty basic.. but are you regularly eating the same things? doing the same exercise? I've found that I got to "shake up" my routine, even if I'm strictly on program because my body seems to just refuse to respond to the same thing over and over again.. -- Will~ "... so that's how liberty ends, in a round of applause." Queen Amidala, The revenge of the Syth. "Doug Lerner" wrote in message ... OK. I'm getting worried. * I have not gone off my diet at all. * I have not been *tempted* to go off my diet. * I continue to exercise every day. But on a week-to-week basis I ended up *gaining* 0.2 kg = 0.4 lb this week. My weight did fluctuate between 110.2 kg and 109.6 kg all week. And even yesterday morning's scale check showed 109.6. But this morning - my "official" weigh-in day - I was at 110.4 kg. sigh The week before people were suggesting that maybe I was eating too few calories and getting into "starvation mode". So this week I judiciously and slowly added back a few more calories. I still didn't go into the bonus - I averaged 1714 calories per day for the week. I definitely don't want to change my diet, but I feel like after two weeks like this - I've only lost 0.6 kg = 1.3 lb all month so far! - that maybe something is wrong. At my weight I should be dropping at least 1 kg = 2.2 lb a week like clockwork. It's way too early at this stage for things to be slowing down. I don't want to turn to carbs again - I don't want to change my varied and easy-to-stay on low-calorie diet at all really. But I wonder if maybe sugars and carbs in my diet are slowing down the progress at all. Or is that just nonsense? I hesitate tweaking with my diet because I've finally found a routine that is easy to stay on and provides great *variety*. But I feel like this whole month has just been "lost time" weight-loss wise and feel frustrated. But I'm not going off my diet... doug |

I feel your pain, my idea of cooking is: "I gave you the slice of cheese!!!
Now you want ME to remove the plastic and give you bread!!!", Lee Doug Lerner wrote in message ... Yes - I am definitely in an eating rut. But I only know how to cook three things. Seriously - last year I had to look up on the Internet how to boil an egg. (not joking) doug |

Unfortunately my butt is 5,000 miles away from the nearest meeting room. What I need are "cookbooks for one person". These "serves 4" or "serves 6" deals don't work for me! doug |

Audrey Thanks, Audrey. I'll take a look. doug |

Doug Lerner wrote in message ... Seriously - last year I had to look up on the Internet how to boil an egg. (not joking) It's not really that easy. The Georgia Egg Board has rather extensive recommendations that I read in a Julia Child cookbook. In the past there was an on-going saga in ASD of someone trying to get the perfect boiled eggs. I own a rather good cookbook with healthy recipes using rather standard ingredients called "Healthy Cooking for Two" by Brenda Shriver and Angela Shriver. Matthew |
