style of eating is like the carb/protein one, I tried to go to three meals
and two snacks, it was a disaster, I eat several times a day in the 2/4 point area and have one large meal a day in the 6/10 range, giving up my bedtime snack found me at the refrigerator eating, I had never eaten like that before. I am back to grazing and my bedtime snack is different, fruit, yogurt instead of a cookie but the act is there, Lee, who finds eating styles very interesting Fred wrote in message ... Yesterday I found after lunch I was full for the entire afternoon - heavier carbs due to fruit, potatoes and that whole wheat english muffin ... or just because it was a larger midday meal than norm? Dinner was fish and veggies, salad, soup - I found myself looking for something/anything about 3 hours later. I avoided but still, the hunger (or something) was there. I'm going to have to think about this for awhile. g That is interesting. Most of these days my lunch is definitely the smaller meal. There were days in the past, when lunch would be Mexican Food or a large lunch at a Japanese restaurant. I do NOT do that any longer. Maybe a rare birthday lunch with someone and even then, I will usually order something smaller or take stuff home. Dinner is still generally my bigger meal. Maybe that does carry me through better but there is still a snacking urge too many days lately. My lunch is usually always a smaller meal - the above was rare for me. I tend to feel the same way when I go out for lunch though. Larger than normal lunch meal leaves me not hungry at dinner. Normal dinner meals for me are my large meal of the day - usually 10 or so points. And this carries me a long time. Many nights I don't have any snacks afterwards, or have to force myself to have something. The urge to snack tends to hit me in those wee hours - when I probably should be sleeping. If I am asleep, then I can't eat ... right? G I have been trying to enforce the rule - if it is 9:30 pm and bedtime is only about 1/2 hour away, I do NOT need a snack of any kind. Most times I do win that battle but sometimes the snacks do. Joyce |

OH man I missed this group, Lee
Joyce wrote in message ... On Fri, 23 Jul 2004 18:45:27 -0700, Fred wrote: Evening is usually my worst snacking time. Yesterday WORK came a close second. Actually tapered off in the evening after yesterday afternoon. Work never bothered me, there was never any food around the office (when I worked). But lunches out were nasty - long and heavy. I could get away with it in my single days, just didn't bother eating dinner. It probably would kill me now. g Evenings, the boredom seems to creep up which leads to those munching urges. I just keep fighting them, sometimes successful - sometimes not. Actually, I generally do well at work and had declared everyone's candy dish offlimits and skip most birthday parties not in our immediate group. But the last few weeks I do a quick supermarket run and seem to have found the spice drops and the juicy fruits (imitation by Brachs!) and been draining them. But yesterday was a bad day. Going away party, the supermarket and then the cheerios breakin (g) on the drive home. Are the spice drops lower in points? I have been eyeing the larger packages but feared even looking at the label - just keep walking past them. I forgot all about the smaller sized ones, which would be perfect! I love all the smaller sized candy available now. My grandson is in love with Popables, hub always keeps a bag of them for the boy. I've found I have no problem just having one piece - helps with the chocolate cravings sometimes. I still can't believe you hit the cheerios so hard. Probably because I detest them. g I need to get back to discipline (watch it!!!!) I am not saying a word! Joyce |

Probably because I detest them. g Many of the "jelly" candies are about the same - 120 or so fat-free calories per serving. I am still sometimes amazed that there must be that much sugar in these various candies. It they could up the GEL-content and cut the sugar maybe it would be a reasonable candy anyway or TASTELESS (G) That's not too bad, for the small drop like ones. Those I could handle nicely, eating just a few - probably a fraction of what is considered a serving size. I tend to do that with the candy these days. 1 or 2 hershey kisses, or m&m's, or popables ... enough for a taste, not a killer calorie wise. I really don't want them to up the gel content - then it only feels like I'm chewing something that wants to pull my teeth out. g Probably why I no longer chew gum. I like cheerios and recently discovered that the HoneyNut variety is not much different than the regular. Actually, less fat and more sugar I think. Pretty close overall. Traffic was bad and I was hungry! Maybe it's one of those breakfast item things ... I don't enjoy breakfast. The only cereal I really do like is Raisin Bran and have learned to enjoy oatmeal. But I did find something the other day that I enjoyed immensely ... cookie crackers (as I'm calling them). Two varieties, Oreo's and Chips Ahoy I believe, manufactured in thin crisps like crackers but taste very similar to the cookies. The ones we found were packaged in 100 calorie bags, 6 bags to a box. I love presorted portion control! G Joyce |

I have a tough time resisting their samples, but now I'm at least limiting it to
things that I'm REALLY interested in, instead of grabbing just because it's there. If hub is with me, I often am able to talk him into splitting one sample with me. I figure it helps a bit. g Probably a good thing for me that I keep all my purchases in the trunk of the car - makes it much harder to get to when those munchie attacks hit. I lucked out at Sam's. Two of the women that give out the samples are women
who are partners with two managers in my program, when we walk up if it isn't worth the points, both have been on ww in the past, they say save your points, and I move on, Lee Joyce wrote in message ...
