Since this thread started, I've been thinking about other singular use
items in my household. My electric toothbrush stands out in my mind. Can't think of any other application for it. The only thing I do with my apple corer is core apples. Don't know what else I'd do with it, although there might be other uses. There are other items in my house that have only one use; perhaps a flax seed grinder isn't such an outrageous idea after all. One could argue that a pepper mill or a salt shaker is also a single use item. I'll never forget my dismay when I learned my dad had bought a peanut dispenser for the family room's coffee table. That was the most outrageous thing I'd ever heard of. Ohhh, a peanut dispenser. (g) I guess you are right about a pepper mill or shaker. But I was thinking of grinding other spices besides the flax. Then of course, some friends have nutmeg grinders. I don't. You're on your own when it comes to wondering about phytonutrients. I just want to sprinkle the dang stuff on my cereal. And I don't want to drag out an electric appliance to do so, or do any clean up after. If you ever reach any conclusions about the phytonutrients, be sure to let us know. Maybe I will look it up if I remember TOMORROW Until I get my grinder, I'll keep using my teeth and not worry whether I'm getting the full nutritional value. Sounds good. |
