may I ask you a personal question about your daughter? Lee

I thought that Louise had a good point about discussing trigger foods.

except sometimes just talking about it is enough to give me Bad Thoughts

:-)

do you have trigger foods?

chocolate, baked goods, but can be chips or alcohol either, I'm versatile

Do you have trigger situations?

frustration, tiredness, annoyance with one of my children in particular

who
is very compulsive about food, I get fed up with her eating all "my"

treats
and I try to retrieve one or two. Bad plan, I just don't buy that stuff

now
because while I have some control, DD (who is Intellectually Disabled) has
none whatever

Do you have trigger moods?

as above

Does it take a combination of the above to make you binge?

time was it wouldn't take much at all. And even if things would go well
there was always the glass of wine at bedtime as a "reward"

Food can become this very vampiric friend. Sad: eat, happy:eat, tired:eat,
upset because you've gained weight:eat etc
Some people seem to be more vulnerable than others that way. Knowing
yourself can help but too much of an iron self control can back fire and

you
end up rebelling_against your own better judgement.
I guess I need to get a life :-)
Louise

In the effort of full discloser, I get stressed, depressed and I do not
eat
at all, just as bad for a binge but different behavior that ill affects
good
health and weight loss hopes,

Lee

there is a chemical reason why monthly cycle causes you to crave chocolate,
there are several minerals in chocolate that we want during that time, zinc,
magnesium are two of them, do a google on it and you will see what to take
to stop this, Lee

Pizza is a horrible one for me, and also the food I refuse to give up
totally. I can't eat just a small amount. I try to limit it to once
a month max, or only if having a large impromptu family gathering (is
quick and easy, no fussing on my part).

Do you have trigger situations?

Boredom is my biggest problem. Don't know what to do? Look in the
fridge, of course. lol Hormones seem to bring on the chocolate
cravings.

Do you have trigger moods?

Never used to.

I don't remember having any out and out binges. Ummmmm, maybe on
wine. lol

In that past, that's how I handled things too. You are right, it also
isn't a good way to handle things. I ended up dropping down to 103
pounds - sounds really nice but I looked ghostly. I also did not
realize how bad it had become until I was dragged to the doctor and
found it had manifested into an eating disorder. sigh That happy
medium is very hard to find.

My trigger food is (if you can believe it) is peanut butter!
Combine that with the weekend, and I have a recipie for disaster.

My trigger food is chocolate; I just can't have a moderate amount of it and stop. That's why I prefer to avoid it altogether.

I'm a big mouth, and a comedian at heart so I talk a lot, it makes people
think I'm very confident in social situation.. but I tend to feel out of
place a lot. Actually, I talk mostly out of a need to hide my fears I guess.
When there's food around, I eat away my nervousness...

Again though, that's all related to being tired.. when I'm well rested I can
deal with anything, but with all the medical issues and everything,
sometimes the body gives up and the rest seems to follow, resolve,
confidence, sanity maybe... ;op

Salty stuff.. chips crackers,... mmmm

Do you have trigger situations?

In social situation when I feel out of place. Some parties I've gone to,
I've felt like it was "my world" at those I tend to stay by the food..

Do you have trigger moods?

Stress, frustration.. Mainly though it's when I'm tired that I lose

control.

Does it take a combination of the above to make you binge?

It doesn't help.. if I'm tired and have a bowl of chips in front of me

it's
gonna be bad.. ;op

Some people have mentionned alcohol, I don't drink alcohol, and when I
did

I
didn't have a weight problem.. I get hyper when I'm tipsy.

it would be interesting to do a nutritional analyses of you food for a
couple of weeks, and then another time when you did crave it to see what the
difference in minerals and things were, Lee
Joyce wrote in message

Thanks Lee, I'll check into it. Guess I did something ok this time
though, TOM totally snuck up on me unexpectedly. I usually know
clearly a week ahead of time as I can't keep my mind off the chocolate
- yet no cravings at all this trip. Woke up one morning and ...
surprise! lol

Hi Lee, sorry just saw this, sure ask away. I assume you are going to ask
does she have Prader Willi (sp?) Syndrome. No she doesn't but has a lot of
OCD traits with the mental handicap and a lack of things she can do for fun
which all leads to her being very determined and obsessive about food.
Or were you going to ask something else :-)
