Free Weight Loss/Workout Buddy Matching Service
I'm part of the development team of http://www.weightlossbuddy.com and we've
recently added hundreds of new members to our community. If you've visited before, it's definitely worth a another look. The ZIP search feature helps supportive people find each other discretely - you choose how much information you care to share. We have live greeters to welcome you. Come meet our fitness experts, sign up for our motivational newsetters by personal coach Wendy Hearn and discover the support of the Weight Loss Buddy community. I'll meet you there! Fredda And please allow me to briefly address my critic: It's that slippery slope thing. Let one advertiser do it because it's 'relevant' and before long the group is swamped because *anything* can be made relevant with enough twisty logic. There's nothing twisted about letting people who are interested in losing weight know about a free service to find local workout partners. Try joining a group and participating as a member. Keep the link to your business in your sig. I'm not presenting myself as anything else than I am. I always had the option of passing myself off, but I consider that dishonest. I *am* participating - and the members of WLB who are finding what they seek are grateful. By the way, it's not my business. I'm paid to develop software - I'm working on the recipe swap tonight - but I convinced the powers that be to open the site to the public while the rest of the company organizes. The response has convinced management that the buddy search portion of the site will remain free of charge - Thank You! That said, again, I personally apologize to anyone who finds my period notices distateful. I will continue reporting you to your ISP. As I've noted before, our hosting company has strict rules about spam, but period notices in targeted newsgroups doesn't fit that qualification. |

Fredda Weinberg burbled across the ether:
SNIP CANNED ADVERTISING And please allow me to briefly address my critic: It's that slippery slope thing. Let one advertiser do it because it's 'relevant' and before long the group is swamped because *anything* can be made relevant with enough twisty logic. There's nothing twisted about letting people who are interested in losing weight know about a free service to find local workout partners. Do you not read for comprehension? I did not accuse you personally of twisty logic. It's the principle of the thing. Apparently marketing damages your brain. Try joining a group and participating as a member. Keep the link to your business in your sig. I'm not presenting myself as anything else than I am. I always had the option of passing myself off, but I consider that dishonest. Right. "Passing yourself off" as a human being who doesn't have a marketing agenda. Right. I *am* participating - and the members of WLB who are finding what they seek are grateful. I don't see any newsgroup by the name of WLB. You are not participating in the newsgroups you are spamming. Advertising at people is *not* participating in the community. By the way, it's not my business. I'm paid to develop software - I'm working on the recipe swap tonight - but I convinced the powers that be to open the site to the public while the rest of the company organizes. The response has convinced management that the buddy search portion of the site will remain free of charge - Thank You! You're paid to develop software yet you spend your time spamming newsgroups about this website. Right. That said, again, I personally apologize to anyone who finds my period notices distateful. Apologies don't mean much unless you stop doing the offensive behavior. I will continue reporting you to your ISP. As I've noted before, our hosting company has strict rules about spam, but period notices in targeted newsgroups doesn't fit that qualification. I don't give a damn about your hosting company's rules (which of *course* are going to define spam as something they don't do, even while they do it). ASDLC's charter prohibits advertising of any kind. Period. You are breaking our rules which I consider much more important. So **** off. -- revek www.geocities.com/tanirevek/LowCarb.html lowcarbing since June 2002 5'2" 41 F 165+/too much/size seven petite please SUSHIDO: The way of the Tuna. |

Hark! I heard "Fredda Weinberg" say:
snip That said, again, I personally apologize to anyone who finds my period notices distateful. Then knock it the hell off! Or at the very least, preface your advertising with an indicator such as [AD] so we can filter you out. For now, I'll just settle for killfiling anything with the words "workout buddy" in the subject header... -- J.J. in WA State (251/240/150) |

Tip: don't announce how you will kill-file a spammer or a troll! Just do it and let them wonder why almost no one (only the loonies) answers them. Tonia |
