Food & Exercise -- 5/29/2006
Home today for the holiday. Since I didn't go to the gym yesterday I
did so today. Otherwise haven't done anything exciting -- catching up on TiVo programs and a little housework and office work. Food: * 8:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese & 10g grated parmesan * 10:45 (gym, between lifting & yoga): All Bran cereal bar * 2:00 (home): turkey burger on whole wheat hamburger bun w/ 3 slices f/f cheese, dill pickle slices, & catsup * 6:00 (home): orange * 7:30 (home): 11 small turkey meatballs in 2 tbsp f/f turkey gravy; 4 oz. steamed green beans; 2 oz. mushrooms * 11:00 (home -- planned): 250g f/f Greek yogurt w/ 100g strawberries Totals: 1413 calories, 42g fat (27%), 135g carbs (38%), 131g protein Exercise: 10:00 -- Upper Body: DB bench press; DB flyes; DB bent-over rows; seated cable rows; machine-assisted pull-ups (parallel and overhand grip); a shoulder rehab exercise -- straight-armed presses in Smith machine lying on Swiss ball; seated DB shoulder press; DB curls; overhead triceps extension machine {I've decided to stop tracking and logging the weights and reps that I do. I tend to get compulsive about wanting to do better than -- or at least as well as -- previous sessions, and get upset with myself if I don't. I don't want this to take away from my enjoyment of exercise. I'm not worried that it will keep me from pushing myself, as I always try to do as much weight as I feel like I can on the day -- I just don't want to keep detailed records. If I get back into a mode of wanting to compete again I'll have to change this, but for now I'm going to settle for general fitness.} 11:00 -- 75 minute vinyasa yoga class Chris 262/130s/130s started dieting July 2002, maintaining since June 2004 |

Sounds like you're really conscientious about taking care of yourself, and I commend you for it. Although I'm not aware of your needs nor am I an expert on nutrition, do you feel that additional fruits and vegetables would be of greater benefit to YOU, to assist your dieting efforts? http://jonesbiomed.cjb.net/nutrtion.htm Well, having lost 130 lbs. and kept it off for 2 years, I don't think I need a lot of assistance with my dieting efforts. As to whether more fruit and veggies would be good for my health -- probably. I normally eat a decent amount of veggies, though. I have a hard time digesting most fruits so eat a fairly limited amount of them. I'm in pretty good health anyway :-). Chris 262/130s/130s started dieting July 2002, maintaining since June 2004 |
