I think you're right about the girlfriend thing, though. Yup, that was him. Searching for a worthwhile prospective partner looks hard enough without chucking in those sort of requirements too. That might not be too bad of a requirement. Since it's just my husband and me in the household, and we both control carbs and usually stick to whole foods, it really simplifies a multitude of situations like: o Shopping o Entertaining o Keeping fridge and cupboards free of temptations o Restaurant selection o Day to day meal preparation Heck, people have all kinds of requirements (must be X tall, have a certain personality, etc.), so I don't consider Cubit's requirement that bad. I don't either; but a partner can always change diet later. It's rather hard to predict or control that. |

My best friend from highschool posted a personal on the net, requesting a
"tallish, athletic blonde". The woman that he met and married four years ago is a shortish, sluggish (literally-she has thyroid issues) brunette...We laugh it up all the time over that one! My mother says she wont date a man that has any living relatives, and of course, she has been single and not dating for 20 years.... Glitter Girl "Concordia" wrote in message ... Hi Bob,
Ada Ma: Cubit is the one who insists on doing no exercise and whose minimal requirement for a prospective girlfriend is that she must be willing to go low carb forever. Am I right? :-P Carmen: Yup, that was him. Searching for a worthwhile prospective partner looks hard enough without chucking in those sort of requirements too. Bob M.: That might not be too bad of a requirement. Heck, people have all kinds of requirements (must be X tall, have a certain personality, etc.), so I don't consider Cubit's requirement that bad. I knew one guy who said (his words), "I could never marry a woman with small [breasts]." (The latter changed from the real wording.) At least having a "requirement" of something that's important -- like diet -- is better than putting arbitrary requirements on a mate. I used to read personals and be intrigued by one, then find out that she wanted someone four inches taller than me (even though she's 4 inches shorter than me) or wants black haired men. Diet can be far too transient in nature, and IMO therein lies the danger. Cubit is pushing 50 and still unmarried. He's stated the desire to date, but placing that sort of requirement on prospective partners looks an awful lot like putting up barbed wire around the "Welcome" mat. Is the food someone eats important enough to outweigh compatibility in other areas? Or is it a subconscious way to avoid commitment? It could go either way. take care, Carmen |

I thought he was a youngster! I'd rather be single than be in a bad marriage And single ain't so bad when you can find plenty of nice ladies to date!! But I'd rather be married to a great lady than to be constantly dating lots of different ones, trying to figure out what makes each of them tick. |
