Well, of course you could tell the server "don't bring the pancakes." but, that is throwing away money, now, isn't it? When you order the omelet dish, the price of the pancakes are figured in; they do not give you a reduction in price if you don't have the pancakes. At my local IHOP I've gotten them to sub something else for the pancakes. Last time was a small dish of strawberries and cantaloupe chunks, quite lovely. I only ever eat breakfast food at IHOP. I don't think they really do anything else well. And of course at 11:15 that would certainly be breakfast meal time for me. That's way too early for me to think about "lunch" foods yet. :-) -- Debbie |

I've never had a problem getting local IHOPs to substitute something else for pancakes, like a scoop of cottage cheese, or some lettuce and tomato. Of course, asking for a substitute that's more expensive, such as extra bacon, is probably not going to get your request honored without a fee. In case it hasn't been mentioned in this thread, IHOP typically adds some pancake batter to omelets to make them fluffier, unless you specifically ask them to use only egg. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |
