Good luck with school, Sunshyne. Let us know how it goes.

Yesterday was a long day. First days are like that I think? I got this
beautiful graphic art design set, case and all. Art tools I never even heard
of. Lots of books. I am finding it hard on my back to carry the books around,
so looking into one of them bookbags on wheels.

It was such a busy day, I did not eat as well as I should've. Today I did
better. Classes are from 12-5. 10 minute breaks in between each class. There
are vending machines, but its all junk food.

I had a sausage patty and two boiled eggs for breakfast. (I cut them up into
small pieces, mix them together with a dash of hot sauce) Small salad for lunch
before school. I was getting really hungry towards the end of the day though.
Drank lots of water.

Being active and busy, its helping me sleep better. (Bleeding also has
stopped). My doctor is trying to get the referral out to have another scope
done.

Drawing class is my fave, along with Typography. Studied the history of
writing, the alphabet today. Was really interesting.

Soon as I picked up a drawing pencil, the teacher showing us how to hold it. I
knew I made the right decision. Felt like I am home again. Its what I am
meant to do.

Are you back to teaching now too? Hows it going for you?

The teachers I have, they are great!

Nimue: I have a Business Comm. Class. The book, workbook for the class, its a
English workbook. Remember I told you once about the horrible teacher I had
when a kid? The nouns, pronouns, proper nouns, verbs, adverbs. Its driving me
a little bonkers already. I may need some help, if you are up to it? Not yet,
but if needed, can I ask you for help? I wish I could say I like English as a
course. I just don't. Or perhaps its just the belittling teacher I had when a
kid. I was falling asleep in class just about. It may get better as the week
goes on.

I can imagine. makes you wonder if they will ever develop the softbook - a
book on CD, DVD, or flash memory. Then just put them on a laptop or even a
handheld of sometypel

Sunshyne ...

are you saying Fibro as in fibromyalgia?

Yes, fibromayglia. I also have degenerative disk disease, cervical and lumbar
hernitated disks.

Then, I have to second the advice about the water. I find that on days
that I forget to drink much water, my pain flares horribly, so I want to
crawl into a hole and die. It took me a really long time to figure this
one out, since it was always also associated with me trying harder to be
strictly low carb and I would always blame the diet rather than the lack
of fluids. But recently I've been responding to that pain by drinking
huge glasses of water whenever I can and I'm much better within a few hours.

Rebecca wrote: I have chronic pain, but I don't use the F-word, because I
know that's
how it's perceived by many people in the medical profession. Besides,
it doesn't explain anything. It's just a garbage term for pain that the
doctors can't figure out how to deal with. I've also stopped trying to
get the doctors to do anything about my pain. It's beyond their
abilities. Even with the Dx of fibromyalgia and a sympathetic doctor, I
was miserable on the drugs they recommended. So, I've dropped the Dx
and I go it alone. BRBR

I have two items about that:

For the past few years, my mother has been thinking that she has fibromyalgia,
suffering with the pain, sleeplessness, depression and fatigue, etc. She
recently went to a neurologist who found that she may have a disc problem in
her lower back, which may account for the pains that she gets in her legs. She
is waiting to hear about the MRI she had yesterday, but is hopeful that there
may be a tangible diagnosis.

Secondly, I know of a woman with fibromyalgia who has been institutionalized
after it was found that she had become dependent on many different painkillers.
She had amassed 26 different prescriptions from all the different doctors she
had been to. She was not getting out of bed and was terribly depressed. That
is all I know of that situation, but it is a cautionary tale about drugs and
the lack of answers about this condition.
