Hello, Gang!
New to the newsgroup. Am just finishing up my 55th week on WW. Have
lost over 116 pounds. All along I have been doing cardio and toning
workouts, which have helped immensely, but I do still have issues with
loose skin, especially on the stomach, inner thighs and upper arms. I'm
wondering if anyone has any suggestions that would help to get rid of it
(or at least firm it up a bit)...preferably not involving surgery? I'm
less than 10 lbs from my goal so it's not really a matter of losing too
much more flab.
Thanks in advance

Kathleen

Time, exercsie, and massaging body lotion in night and morning!

It HELPS, it doesn't cure, and it takes about 2 years for the skin to
shrink from that big a loss - if you are young and don't have dry skin.
The older and/or dryer the skin, the longer it takes to reduce.

Be patient. You have done really well so far.

Thank you so much, Kate. Funny we have the same name. I've got the
time, I've been doing the exercise and I do the lotion once a day at the
moment but will up it to twice.

I am 43 and my skin is definitely not dry as I have always used lotion.
Any special lotion you recommend or will any do? I ask b/c I started
using Clinique back in September for the neck and face and it works
wonders...in addition to the neck & facial exercises I learned to do.

As long as I know the skin will shrink up, I can wait. Thanks again.

It's whether it's NATURALLY dry that really matters. If your skin is
naturally on the dry side and you got stretch marks when pregnant, the
skin is less elastic than for some folk, and t will take longer to shring...

Anything nice that you like! Clinique is fine. Lush massage bars are
fine... Even baby oil wil do! It's not just the skin softening and
moisurising that makes it work, but the massage.

It helps and it takes time, and you may always have some loose skin
after losing so much. I lost 70 lbs and have kept most of it off (but
suffer from water retention now, which is worse than fat to get rid
of!), and I found it did help with me.

Swimming also helps!

OHMIGOSH!! 70 lbs is awesome!! And especially keeping it off. I know
what you mean about the fluid retention. I find with that, the more
water I drink helps me get rid of the extra fluid. Doesn't make for a
great night's sleep but it gets rid of the fluid.

I'm glad to hear of someone else who has lost alot and has kept it off.
Now that I am near goal, that is my biggest worry...keeping it off. I
told the gang at work just the other day to call me on it, if I start
putting weight back on. Lucky for me (in this respect) I have alot of
pride so that will push me to keep working.

Unfortunately I am no where near a pool. I live in the middle of
NoWhere in Ireland.

Thanks. We're probably neighbors and don't even know it. Know of any
Yanks married to an Englishman in your area? That might be me! Sad that
we've been in this house for going on 6 1/2 years and I have neighbors I
still don't know.

Weigh in tomorrow. My leader says I could make goal before Easter.
That would be AWESOME!!
