Default Good Calories, Bad Calories

I'm surprised I see so little discussion here about the bood Good
Calories, Bad Calories, by Gary Taubes. I personally think this book
should win some type of award, even a Pulitzer prize. It really is that
good. It points out the logical potential fallacies regarding the
anti-fat notions of diet, yet does it in such a manner that's not
condenscending. I also think it's correct in its conclusions. I've
always wondered why I have more energy when on a low carb diet than low
fat, and this book describes why.

Anyone read this book? If so, what are your thoughts on in?

Hi Bob,

This book as been discussed here quite a bit....but I think you were busy
with family obligations at the time. Maybe you can stir thing up here a
bit. Mostly spammers are in here now.

We discussed it a lot when it first came out.

Pulitzer prize. It really is that good.

Agreed. It's probably too dense for most people to read, but if the
work he's done by compiling and documenting the facts is reflected in
more mainstream-palatable works, that'll be a great thing.

It's not a low-carb book in the sense of a how-to diet book, but it
provides tons of evidence of the wisdom of low-carb eating, so I found
it to be an inspiration.

Try a Yahoo group dedicated to his book, and such.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/TaubesTalk/

However, the group has been pretty quiet in recent days.

The links section has some of his lectures and radio guest events during his
book promotion.
