Default Apology to Sunshyne

I'm sorry, Sunshyne, for what I did to you last night. I was feeling
emotionally fragile, and Ignoramous' posts were affecting me badly.
Getting up this morning, I'm discovering that I'd have to do a lot more
killfiling to erase the jerk from my life, so I've come up with another way
of dealing with it.

I'm very sorry if I caused you unnecessary pain.

Please disregard the above. I just had the chance to read your reply to my
previous post. It would not be healthy for me to continue reading your
posts, afterall.

I hope no one starts making noises like you're stuck with any of your
problems forever when you know there are ways to improve whatever the
condition is. You'd know how I feel now, and I really don't want you to
ever feel that way.

I don't think you're stuck with the problem of binge eating, but it is
possible that you may be "stuck with" the underlying cause, whatever it is.
People do harmful things to themselves in response to emotional distress,
and a certain amount of emotional distress is a part of life.

Michelle and Carol,

I think so too - binge eating, drinking, any other type of addiction
is only a symptom. As you say, Michelle, it's the underlying cause
that is the real issue. But, I believe everyone is capable of deep
and lasting changes in their lives if they're willing to face and
accept what's really going on. It's not easy, but it's being done
all the time! I don't think anyone is ever hopeless or should give
up hope, Carol

BTW, Michelle, I hope your sunburn is better! I've been enjoying
reading your activities with the kids, since I am half hoping and
half dreading getting a job as a teacher :0

Of course not. You can change behaviors, and I'm all for that, but I'm a
bit skeptical and wary about changing basic personality traits. Some
things don't need to be cured, sometimes anxiety or anger or sadness is a
sign that you need to do something to change your life, not a sign that you
need to be on medication. I'm not just on a soapbox here, I say this from
experience. I was diagnosed with depression a few years back, and my
doctor wanted to put me on drugs, and I tried them but I had a bad
reaction. Maybe some people think I should have tried a different drug,
but I realized that I was depressed for a damn good reason, so I got off my
butt and got a job and made friends and got a life, and lo and behold I
wasn't depressed anymore.

My sunburn is coming along, not red anymore, no peeling, but still a little
itchy. I don't think I could ever be a teacher, I like working with kids
because I just get to do the fun parts. Well, mostly fun anyway.

Hmm. Lets practice bluntness. I don't give a ****. You are sorry one minute,
then you are not. Is it the bipolar kicking in? Keep me in killfile. Go ****
yourself.

This is not good stuff. It's very disappointing. If you want drama, go
watch TV.
