New clothes
"Paul" wrote in message ... I have some smaller clothes still from years back, mostly jeans. I'm now able to wear a few of them. I've even got some things that are medium and right now I'm wearing a extra large. I'm wearing a 40 waist currently down from 48. I had quite a few clothes in the 44's, but it didn't take me long to lose the waist line. The clothes that are 44 and under I will store away. I've given all the larger clothes away. I feel like I'm struggling right now with my weight. It definitely isn't coming off like it did the last five months, but I'm staying the course, being strong, and continuing to eat better than ever, so I have no doubt I'm going to make it at least to 200 pounds and hopefully to my goal of 175. Paul Since I'm short and 10lbs can mean a size change for me I tend to keep a wardrobe of two sizes. I did get rid of all the clothes I wore when I was at my highest weight but will probably continue to keep a two size wardrobe of jeans and slacks. Some days the water weight gain alone can mean I feel much better in jeans that are one size larger. Beverly "SnugBear" wrote in message .17... "Paul" wrote I had been giving my larger clothes to charitable organizations, but have decided to start keeping clothes just in case I ever gain my weight back. I bought some $3 Rubbermaid tubs the other day and put away about 10 pairs of pants and 10 shirts. As I lose more weight I'll probably store more clothes away as well. If I maintain my goal weight for at least three to four years I'll probably give those clothes away as well. New clothes are great and I love Kohl's! I have to go visit my friend in New York to shop there though (good excuse, huh? ;-) I always read that there was no point in keeping clothes that were too small in hopes of losing weight because if you lost weight, you would want NEW clothes. Some clothes styles are classic, but if you're talking about waiting 4 years, what are the chances you'll want to wear them? I would only keep one size bigger, but that's me. -- Walking on . . . They've had a big sale (probably still going on) of all their winter stuff at like 80% off. I bought a lot -- got some amazing buys! I haven't been saving anything that's bigger than I would wear. (Sometimes I will wear larger sizes than I'd buy now -- particularly in sweaters and such -- but if I put it on and it's unattractively big, it goes in the charity pile.) I can't swear that I won't need the clothes again ever, but I'm not planning on it. If I gain, I'll just have to buy more. Chris 262/162/??? |

Paul, you've lost at an unusually fast rate so far. I don't think you should expect that to continue. There's no need to be in a hurry -- just stick with it. Don't worry, you'll get there! You're doing great! It has taken me 19 months to lose 100 lbs., but that's about the rate I wanted anyway, so it hasn't bothered me. Chris |
