Lack of nutritional info in canada. Grrr.
Even before i started to follow DANDR, i was always sort of let down that
there was a definitive LACK Of nutritional info on the sides of food products in canada. When the americans started putting the info on, canada got slightly better, and now some of the american companies that sell things here slap it on even though technically they dont have to. But still, no info on a brand new bottle of heinz ketchup (as an example), so its hard to know what you are eating, and you have to walk on eggshells during induction, or risk blowing your body right out of ketosis. |

I completely know what you mean. I lived in Canada most of my life and visit my family there frequently. The lack of nutritional info ticks me right off. Perhaps this is something to complain to the gov't about. I'm sure if enough of us do so, they might change their labelling policy. As for the USDA site, its ok to use but remember that some products such as Coca Cola use different ingredients in Canada than they do in the U.S. Just be wary of that fact and you should be ok. -Meagan |

Yes, I was wondering whether the carb count that I posted was pertinent in Canada. I should add a YMMV. -- Jean B. |
