ketchup is much more concentrated than tomato juice, so you probably don't need
to take 8 oz of ketchup if you intend to replace tomato juice with ketchup for
the same effect. Get the low carb version though...

Another option is tomato puree - scoop them up with celery sticks might help.
Since they're very concentrated, it might help you to get through the "8-oz"
quicker because of the smaller volume...

Squeeze some tomato puree into your mayo, whatever you're using your mayo for.

About the tomato soup - I assume you're talking the canned kinds. Some brands
taste nastier than others, so you might want to explore it a bit, invite your
friends around and do a tomato soup tasting session...

Hi, all,

I recently read an article that said that 8 oz daily of tomato juice
resulted in decreased platelet aggregation in diabetics. (I'm diabetic.)
It *might* be the lycopene, but they tested the whole juice, so that's what
I'm drinking.

The trouble is that I *hate* tomato juice. I also hate tomato soup and raw
tomatoes. I like ketchup and pizza sauce well enough, but as you can
imagine, it's a little hard to get the whole 8 oz that way.

So my question is this: how do you make tomato juice palatable? I've been
adding a little toasted sesame oil, which goes well, but does anybody have
a suggestion as to how to make it better?

So far, I've been just holding my nose and chugging it, then brushing my
teeth.

This is an exceptionally good tip in a post full of good tips. Thanks!

Science is facts; just as houses are made of stones, so is science made of
facts; but a pile of stones is not a house and a collection of facts is not
necessarily science.
