I am on low carb diet and I drink lots of green tea (sometimes black)
Both are very helpful healthwise regarding blood pressure, chollestrol, cancer prevention, ..etc. Here is a link in that details the great benefits of tea despite the caffine contents: http://green-tea-benefit.com/ Atkins.com claims caffine can make you crave sugar because it drops your blood sugar level. So they recommend avoiding it. I havn't had any problems intaking 5 cups of green tea daily (2 with my breakfast). I'd avoid coffee. J "£ Î Z @ R Ð" wrote in message ... Caffeine has been very helpful in my weight loss. I'll usually go to Starbucks and get a four-shot venti iced breve latte after lunch. The caffeine will pretty much keep me satiated for the rest of the day. Come time for dinner, I'm not REAL hungry, so I'll eat a small portion and be fine. The drink itself has 15 net grams of carbs (breve means half&half), and I'll usually have another 20-30 grams per day in food. So the question is, is there anything wrong with that? Other than I might get addicted to caffeine? -jonathan |

Also, I
don't think drinking coffee had anything to do with appetite suppression for me. just out of curiousity, why not? Caffeine is a known appetite suppresant... Perhaps it's more so in certain people, but as soon as that caffeine hits my bloodstream, I am completely satiated. "Roger Zoul" wrote in message ... So to those drinking green tea on Atkins - does it help boost your weight loss?
I'm considering drinking it... how does this sound: 8 glasses of water a day (to flush out the fat), and 1 cup of green tea each day? Also, do you drink it as is, or add some Splenda? If so, how much? Jen Join my conga! www.geocities.com/cinnamn112/ipodconga.htm |
