They aren't that high in carbs, only verboten on induction. An 8 oz glass
of tomato juice has 9 net carbs, a medium whole tomato 5. That fits in many low carb plans very nicely and they are full of things that are good for you. They are acidic which makes them good candidates for home canning. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but tomatoes are really a wonderful fruit. I worked in a canning factory back when I was just out of high school. I worked in a pea factory just out of high school. Didn't eat peas for a couple of years. I suspect that after seeing how any food is bulk processed, many people lose their appetite for them. I could tell you some awful stuff I learned about peas, but I won't. My point is, you probably saw more about tomatoes and how they are processed than any of us would like to. That doesn't negate the fact that they have healthful benefits. They also fit into the low-carb lifestyle (just not at the beginning). -- Spring LC since 1/1/04 260/208/170 http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/spr...=/55b8&.src=ph Size: 24W / 14 / 10 |
