Broiling meat
You should try fish rather than high fat turkey. There are also some
good meat alternatives that we enjoy. I find chicken breasts very good for controlling high cholesterol. Angelfire wrote: I have some ground turkey that says it has 50% less fat than regular ground meat. But, after looking at the nutritional facts, it says that it has 95 mg. of cholesterol in a quarter of a pound. The thing that I am wondering is if it still has that much cholesterol after broiling it. I am guessing that all that cholesterol is from the reading taken when it's in the raw form. SO, after it's broiled, then I am wondering if the cholesterol is a lot lower than 95 mg. for each quarter pound. I myself easily ate the whole package of meat in one meal. So, I got the whole pound after broiling it. But, I hope that I did not get about 400 mg. of cholesterol in my body after it was broiled. I thought that a lot of fat dripped off into the broiling pan when broiling the meat. SO, I figured that the cholesterol would drip off too. Does anyone know anything about how the nutritional facts work out if the meat is broiled? Is it true that the nutritional facts label refers to the meat in its raw form??? I am taking lipitor because I have had high cholesterol. SO, it is important that I do not get too much fat or cholesterol. |
