Default Weight Watchers vs. other plans

I'm trying to decide what kind of diet plan would be best for myself.
I would appreciate some information on the Weight Watchers plan. What
kind of foods, how much do you get to eat, just a general impressions
of those who are on the diet. Thanks

WW is not a diet but more of a lifestyle choice, you can eat whatever food
you want as long as you stay in your points and count/portion your food, it
is the best way of eating for me, I can't deal with not allowing any food
group or item. I can have my cake or pop tart just not as often or in the
volume I formerly did, I like meetings best but other like on line or at
home or on your own, welcome and best of luck with whatever plan you choose

some of the meetings are phenomenal... you get to hear how others are
working and losing weight, and you can share your problems and there's a
lot of neat discussions...

and lots of positive reinforcements!!! THAT is the best part... and extra
encouragement from those who understand completely that 'just one fry' isn't
going to make much of a difference mentality... heh...

Keep to the points system, and it does work... also, there are two plans you
can follow for what works best for you, and you can switch if you want if
one doesn't work in your life, perhaps the other one will... etc... and you
can eat most anything you like, limited of course, you have to count points,
one full meal rice, meat, salad, veggies and a low fat dessert can be 7 pts
worth, while one slice of pizza is worth 7 pts... if you want that slice of
pizza, you can have that slice of pizza... no one is going to frown at you,
as you know your points and what you can have... *you also have extra points
to spend throughout the week if you go for a second slice*... just as an
example...

for example, I'm allowed 35 pts / day... *there's a chart and question sheet
that you fill out to figure out the points your allowed, very simple*

and I should use up all those points each day... plus I have 35 points to
spread out during the week for when I decide I'm going to have that 5 pt
cheesecake for dessert and coffee one day after using all my points for that
day...

and there's no guilt on this diet if you know where you are and what you are
doing... that's what I really like about it... you don't have to restrict
yourself to any one particular group of food... (veggies and tofu for
example... its good, but I LIKE my pasta and meats... heh) and you get
really good recipe ideas from other people too...

Most weight watchers meetings allow for a free visit to see what its like,
so find one near you and scoot yourself over there for one... check through
the books and see if you want to sign up.

"Stormmee" scribbled while perusing
:

WW is a set of tools that *you* work to achieve weight loss. The program
doesn't work, you work and you win. The eating lessons taught are basic and
you should be using them whether you are using WW or not.

WW is an excellent choice.

Weight Watchers has the winning combination for these reasons:

POINTS System-Essentially a calorie control method that lets you eat a
little more with high fiber or eat lower calories when you eat more fat.
Allows you to eat WHAT you want, yet controlling HOW MUCH you eat. No
banned foods, just banned portions....

MEETINGS-The place to get the enouragement and learn new ideas and have
accountibility

TOOLS-Cookbooks, Utensils, Magazine

ONLINE-WW Website with recipes, food tracker, forums, and support, THIS
newsgroup

LONGEVITY-The only weight loss plan that has over 30 years of data and
backup documentation of the success of the plan

So, hope that helps!
