Questions About the Food Lists From South Beach Diet
Avocado,
onions, radishes, tomatoes, black olives, almonds and sour cream and blue cheese you can have all of these foods although some have limits (tomato is one per meal, almonds - 15 per day). If you go to www.prevention.com and the south beach message board you can find a thread for newbies. it will give you a full food list with a lot more food than the book lists, all approved by the dr. also, look for the link to the ezboard recipe exchange. has a ton of great recipes. |

Questions About the Food Lists From South Beach Diet
Jean B. wrote:
There is an updated food list that is available if you are a paid subscriber on the site. I believe it incorporates the ingredients in the recipes. (That book has some real inconsistencies! They should have had me working for them!) South Beach's goal is not to be low-carb, although Phase One, which seems to function like the first stage of Atkins to wean you from your cravings etc., does eliminate most carbs. Agatston distinguishes between what he calls good and bad carbs, which becomes apparent after Phase One. Thanks Jean. I now have the updated lists. It's unfortunate that you have to pay to get this information. The site has some helpful recipes that make it worthwile though. Mickey |
