Default No Iron is supplements? Why?

There have been numerous mentions of taking supplements WITHOUT iron, and it
is mentioned in the Atkins book, but I can't see any reason why. Is there a
reason Iron free supplements are suggested?

I asked the same question a few months ago. It seems that most people eat
a lot of iron-containing foods while low-carbing. Things like beef and
spinach. Vitamins containing iron could cause an excess, which isn't good.

I lean more toward chicken for my meals, and my hemoglobin is usually
pretty low. So, I choose a multi-vitamin/mineral which contains iron.

The foods you are supposed to be eating (dark green veggies. in the main,
but also red meat, including many organ meats) on any low carb diet are more
than enough.

CONSTIPATION !!!

Another reason might be iron storage (or overload) disease, also known as
hemochromatosis. This is the most common genetic disease in the US, and
often goes undiagnosed.
