That's exactly what I'm complaining about... that you don't snip
headers.

As I said, some times, I believe cross-posting *is* justified. Like the
"junk food" discussion, which equally well belongs to the alt.support.diet
and sci.med.nutrition newsgroups. It is of interest to both newsgroup, and
so that the thread doesn't even involve much trolling. In cases like this, I
don't feel like I should have to cut any of these two newsgroups from the
cross-posting chain.

the last one to hit this group from that thread (not from you, from
someone else) was crossposted to: rec.food.veg, sci.med.nutrition,
alt.support.diet, misc.education, misc.kids.health

I will admit that there have been times when I have been a little too quick
to reply, and I haven't checked the half dozen newsgroups that some
cross-post to in an attempt to troll. Especially when this kind of thing
happens in the middle of a heated thread which used to be kept to a single
newsgroup for long. I will try to check that line and trim it in the
future...

Thanks, that's all I'm asking.

Your posts are going into groups where you don't participate.
I don't care who STARTED it (now I sound like a mother) but the fact
is, you're keeping it going every time you don't snip a header.

He who throws the first stone... I googled on you, you did do that a few
times too... Mistakes happen.

Those weren't mistakes, if you're talking about the ones in the past few
days. Go read them: I've been replying to all these cross-posted
threads (snipping ASD) and asking that people snip headers.

I do sometimes cross-post to groups when I would be putting the same
post in more than one place, i.e., I could duplicate it and run it in
the group or I could cross-post it and run it only once. The problem
with that is that some of my friends in other groups don't play nice
wtih the people in this group. It has a particular flavor when ASD is
running right and cross-posting leaves an off-flavor, as it were.

If someone is cross-posting into here and I want to discuss something
with them I usually just tell them that I'm snipping the cross-posting
and ask that they take it to a specific group, i.e., I go to
sci.med.nutrition or they come to ASD. It's not fool-proof and it
doesn't come up all that often, but the Chung invasion has left me
****ed off about cross-posting.

Sorry you got the brunt of it.

It is his fault AND your fault if you respond to posts and not trim headers.
How is it not his fault for being too lazy to trim headers?

"Ignoramus22259"
if it is diet related, it belongs to this newsgroup... it is not
Lictor's fault that some threads were started elsewhere.

BZZZ! Wrong answer. IMO, cross posting is a sign of complete laziness by the
OP. If one wants to make a point in several NGs, then go into each one
separately and make the point.

that uses more bandwidth than crossposting does. crossposting perfectly
legitimate if it's done correctly.
