Default Food & Exercise -- 10/6/2003

Food:

8:30 (home): 3/4 cup Hi-Lo cereal, 16g whey protein, 3/4 cup skim milk

12:00 (work cafeteria): sandwich w/ 2 oz. smoked turkey breast,
lettuce, tomato, and mustard on 2 slices whole wheat bread

2:30 (work): 1 carton light f/f peach yogurt

6:30 (Chinese restaurant): 1 spring roll; 1 steamed dumpling; 1
lettuce leaf filled with ground chicken mixture; 1/2 portion chicken
w/ broccoli

Totals: 1296 calories, 36g fat (25%), 120g carbs (27%), 127g protein
(29%)

Exercise:

Bench press: 2x10x45; 1x10x65; 1x10x85; 2x8x95 (needed a little help
on the last couple of reps at 95)

Light shoulder stuff just to work range of motion:

a) Shoulder press with 5 lb. DBs -- 1x15
b) Triceps kickbacks with 5 lb. DBs -- 2x10 (really bad range of
motion on left side compared with right!)
c) Alternating front and side raises with light elastic bands -- 2
x (10 of each)

Jumping rope -- trying to learn to do this right -- played with it for
about 10 minutes, with a little rest here and there -- the most
continous jumps I managed was probably around 20, as I kept trying to
go faster and would mess up (I was a lot better at this in 3rd grade
:-) .)

Pull-up negatives: 1x6

Machine-assisted pull-ups: 1x8x70; 1x5x50 (with help on the last 3 --
managed 2 on my own)

Triceps pressdowns: 1x12x7 plates; 1x12x8 plates

Cardio: 1 mile run on treadmill, a little faster than I've done before
(Kept it pretty short tonight as we were going out to dinner.)

Up two pounds from last week -- I'm guessing one pound of real weight
gain and one of water. Will have to buckle down a bit this week :-).
On the other hand, I went out shopping the other day and bought
several size 12s.

Congrats on the ssize 12's. I'm sure the trip to the Inn was well worth
those 2lbs and they'll come off just as easy as they came on

Size 12s! Wow! Double wow! More power to you!

I was going up and down and up and down in dress/skirt sizes! And,
all the while, my weight was going down and down and further down!

But I FINALLY stabilized at a Size 14.

I weigh over 34 pounds less than you do, and I am not much shorter I
think, at 5'4-1/2".

I still have the same goal, though. I don't expect to hit it soon,
since I want to be able to "gorge myself" on some little bit more than
1,500 calories a day every single day for maintenance.

One has to stick their little toe in to test the waters ....

So, Chris, do you have a goal in mind now?

Well, I'm still really more a 14 overall. But there are so many pants
now with a bit of spandex (or something stretchy) in the fabric, and
that lets me fasten them around my tummy and waist, where they'd
otherwise be tight. My thighs are fine in a 12, certainly. And
through the shoulders and bust I'm really not a 12. Mostly I wear
knit tops, though, in either medium or large.

I'm around 5'5-1/2" -- so about an inch taller than you. I have a
fairly large frame and a fair bit of muscle.

I still have the same goal, though. I don't expect to hit it soon,

I don't really have a goal, but I'm giving it some thought. I'd like
to get below 165 because it would put me in a better weight class in
Olympic liftin competition :-). I don't think I'd care to be below
150. So -- I guess somewhere in the 150-165 range. We shall see :-).
I think size 12 is probably the smallest I can aim for given my bone
structure and amount of muscle, but I could be wrong.

I don't know how much I'll be able to change my diet when I reach
goal. I'm not really anticipating a big change, and I expect to keep
counting calories. I have had the occasional cheat meal all along, so
that will just continue. I like the idea of stabilizing my weight at
some point, though, so I could eventually have a wardrobe that all
fits :-). And it would help my weightlifting training to not be
changing size all the time, I think.
