Food & Exercise -- 2/6-7/2007 (yesterday & today)
Tuesday, 2/6: Didn't do much in the daytime. I was supposed to go
work at the Conservancy but they asked me to come Thursday instead. I didn't get out to run as it was far too cold. In the evening we went to an Austrian wine dinner at a country inn that's about 40 miles from here. This restaurant serves small, exquisite courses -- and gets the flavor much more from seasoning than from high fat content -- so it's a great choice for a dieting gourmet :-). I had a lot of wine, though! Food: * 8:45 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese & 10g grated parmesan * 1:00 (home): 4 oz. ground turkey breast burger on whole wheat hamburger bun w/ 3 slices f/f cheese, dill pickle slice, & catsup * 4:45 (home): energy bar * 7:00 (wine dinner): 17 oz. wine; 6 tiny pieces of sourdough bread w/ 2 pats butter; "Oyster on the Half Shell with a Tart Apple Salad" (1 oyster, tiny bit of apple/citrus salad); "House Smoked Trout on a Shaved Red Onion and Bittergreen Salad, finished with a Horseradish Cream" (1 oz. trout, tiny salad); "Crispy Seared Snapper on Crushed Root Vegetables Drizzled with a Brown Butter, Lemon and Parsley Sauce" (2.5 oz. snapper; 2/3 cup finely crushed root veggies); "Austrian Spiced Duck Breast on a Tangle of Tart Greens with a 50 year old Sherry Vinegar" (2.5 oz. duck, on a mix of greens); "Juniper Dusted Loin of Venison on a Horseradish Spiked Potato Cloud with a Cranberry and Fresh Herb Sauce" (2.5 oz. venison, 1/4 cup potato); "Fried Emmental with Lingonberry Preserve" (2 oz. cheese, trace amount of preserve); "Opera Tort -- Layers of Chocolate Sponge and Espresson encased in Ganache" (3 oz. serving) Totals: 2232 calories (324 from alcohol), 66g fat (27%), 148g carbs (27%), 172g protein (31%) Exercise: None Wednesday, 2/7: Typical Wednesday, with gym and grocery shopping. Ate lightly, as I didn't wake up hungry after last night's big dinner. Food: * 9:00 (home): energy bar * 1:30 (home): 4 oz. ground turkey breast burger on whole wheat hamburger bun w/ 3 slices f/f cheese, dill pickle slice, & catsup * 5:30 (home): 2 multigrain crackers w/ 1 Mini Babybel cheese * 8:30 (home): 2 cups savory pot roast soup * 11:00 (home -- planned): 250g f/f Greek yogurt Totals: 1013 calories, 20g fat (18%), 103g carbs (41%), 106g protein (42%) Exercise: * 10:00 -- Lifting: power snatch; snatch pulls; muscle clean w/ push press; back squat; reverse hyperextensions; seated machine ab crunches * 11:00 -- 75 minute yoga class, focus on back bends Chris 262/130s/130s started dieting July 2002, maintaining since June 2004 |
