Default weight loss

Over the past 3 years I've gained about 10 extra pounds, mostly in my
belly that I would like to lose. I plan to do this the old fashioned
way... i.e. make a change to a healthy well balanced diet and start
working out.

I was just curious about these fat blocking pills. I personally do
not like the thought of intefering with the body's metabolism but I
would like to know what kind of side effects do they have? I have
heard some of them are just fake and do not work. Is this true?

Cheers,
Kevin

Either they won't work (fake) or they will work. If they do work, you will
need to wear diapers, because you will, quite litterally, have large amount
of undigested fat pouring out of your ass. Same with with carb blockers, if
they do work, you can expect some bloated instestines and gas from carb
fermentation.
Unless you use them for life, you can expect whatever weight loss was caused
by them to creep back at you. You can also expect some troubles with
essential fatty acids (these won't be digested either) and fat soluble
vitamins (A, D, E) - multivitamins won't work too well, since these won't be
digested either. Lastly, after the few first couple of days, your brain will
register that some food in not going where it should and that the body is
lacking some essential stuff, so it will crank up your appetite to make up
for it - you will probably eat more carbs as a result.
Of course, that's all assuming they do work. I would be quite dubious (and
frightened) about these things being sold as non-prescription drugs if they
did work...

Hi Kevin,

I don't know about the pills, but I'd shy away from them. Your lucky to
have only gained 10 pounds in 3 years. How much do you weigh? If you want
to lose that weight then eat healthy, smaller portions, more times a day,
and do cardio walks, stairclimbers, or eliptical workouts a minimum of 3
times a week and preferably 5 to 6 times a week.

You go dude,

Paul
