According to the official results, my run time was 25 minutes 13
seconds.

I was number 12 out of 29 persons my age (men 30 to 39).

I was number 80 out of 265 individuals total.

The fastest runner ran for 17:21. The slowest, 59 minutes.

3 men in my age group were given awards, the slowest of them was 22
minutes. Maybe I can beat that.

I think you did very well on your first run. Congratulations!

Beverly

Igno,

The secret to winning awards is to hold that time and age a little.

I have always had some goal in every race I've run in. In my first 5K I
planned to just run the whole race without stopping. I failed because I got
caught up in the excitement and burned myself out in two miles, ended up
walking some and finished in about 26 minutes. Having said that you think I
would be embarressed but I am not. Im proud to have raced and am thankful
for what I learned. I guess I just love running that much.

Its nice to shoot for a goal time but the real pleasure is knowing that you
raced and that there are so many people out there who never had the courage
to make it to the starting line.

Good luck and never stop running.

Jim

Ig,

I know you can beat it if you train and want it enough. I wish my legs
weren't messed up I know I'd be near the top. Heck I'd train to be first.
I weigh less now then I did in the Marines and I ran a 19:15 then at around
200 pounds.

You go Bro,

Paul
