core is being very good to me

I got reading glasses at 30 years old.. don't worry !!
Hey about core, make sure you eat grains.. they saved me ! Will~ "Nunya B." wrote in message ... A while back I tried the Core plan and lasted less than two days. I had a major loss by this morning though I don't weigh in until Friday. The plan is getting easier and it's really not much of a change from what I was doing on flex except that I don't measure my fruit or veggies. I still measure calorie dense foods like meats and whole grains. You know it's a funny thing to get older... I'm 32, which has everybody go
"Oh you're a kid".. it kinda bugs me actually... this is the oldest I've ever been.. obviously.. but also... life changes as you go, I'm a home owner, a worker, a wife, I don't see how I can "qualify" as a kid anymore.. To me being a kid is not having to worry about anything but your own little behind and how you do at school. It's simpler times where running out of money meant that you werent going to the weekend party.. not that you could lose your house.. I don't mind getting older, I'm certainly wiser and calmer than I was in my 20s, and I enjoy being grounded by married life and all the responsibilities attached to it. I realize that I would have the body I had at 16 years old, but I'm ok with that. That body was the result of being young, working out 30 hours a week.. and eating once every few days.. nope... ain't gonna go there.. I might seem a kid for a lot of people, the average age at WW is around 55 years old, but I'm the oldest I've ever been and I'm at the best age I've ever been... I'm old enough to know better, and young enough to enjoy it.. *grin* I guess it's all in how you look at it.. for kids I'm an old lady... for older people I'm a kid.. can I just be an adult? Plain run of the mill adult with responsabilities, duties, and lots of fun? If I'm such a kid, will anybody take up my bills? ;op Will~ "Nunya B." wrote in message ... "ahmward" wrote in message ... Both of my parents are giving me crap about being "old." I know I'm not as old as some, and I seriously thought it would be no big deal to turn 40 but I've made a strange mental shift I didn't expect to happen. I don't feel bad - I weigh less than I did at 18 and I'm more physically fit and healthy than I've ever been. I just recognize that I'm no longer 25 anymore regardless of how I feel. Well I still have 2 months to enjoy being a 30-something! -- the volleyballchick |

core is being very good to me
"RichardS" RichardS@*.* wrote in message ... This is an interesting thread. After my first stall I tried core and gained so I went back to flex. My problem is if I don't count points I just don't stop eating. I may give it another shot. That would be a problem for me and has been in the past, but after doing portion control with the flex plan for a long enough time I have decided this is the time to try it. At some point the portioning does get to be a bit of second nature. I have one distinct advantage over some in that I have a digestive problem and if I eat too much I get really really sick. I didn't use to have this problem. I've been most successful doing the Wendie Plan. I went back to flex points because on the low point days I got very hungry and I was uncomfortable with the 39 point day. Now I'm in another stall. No loss last week and this week so far I've gained a pound. Frustrating. I need to get more upbeat and get my motivation back. -- RichardS Try moving more. I am the same way, as it is I don't journal soon enough and so my jornals often reflect what I should have done rather than what I need to do. Journaling was a major part of my treatment for my eating disorder. I find that when I don't do it, I slip back into some bad old habits. What I like about the core journaling is that I write down "grapes" instead of 1c grapes (or 2c or whatever). It works better for my thought process since when numbers are involved I tend to get too fixated. When I was on the liquid diet and afterward I became fixated on calories in/calories out to the point that I became an exercise bulimic (and in other ways) where I would insist on exercising enough to compensate for every calorie I took in. It's not a great way to live. Plus, if I set a goal of "X" calories a day and ended up eating "X+10" I would freak out and either binge (I screwed up so I might as well give up) or do things to try and rid myself of the calories. It's personally important to me to be able to do the core plan because I will not succeed in the long term if I don't repair the problems with hunger and fullness. This is an interesting concept. I tend to think, if I watch my portions, at sometime I will automatically quit feeling hungry. Maybe I am fooling myself, yes! People who are overweight either learn to ignore the body's signals for both hunger and fullness or the signals are screwed up in some way. Some researchers think that these signals can be reset. I'm working on that principle and am willing to experiment and find out. BTW, I'm officially old now. I just got my first pair of bifocals, 2 months before the big 4-0. Doesn't mean your old at all. It only means you are taking care of your self now that you feel better about your self-image. Hey, I'm 56 I outta know. I know I'm not really "old," just a bit older and wiser than I was Sometimes there are things that go on that just remind me of my chronological age. -- the volleyballchick |

core is being very good to me
"Willow Herself" wrote in message news I got reading glasses at 30 years old.. don't worry !! Hey about core, make sure you eat grains.. they saved me ! Yeah, I've had to wear reading glasses with my contacts for a few years now. You are so right about the grains. A few days ago I unintentionally went too low carb (just eggs, ff cheese, and roasted turkey all day) and got so incredibly sick. I just measure things like whole wheat pasta and brown rice still rather than relying on the ole' appetite to tell me when I've had enough. Fruit and veggies are what I turn to when I'm still hungry. Here's a core question for you. The online plan manager tracks my 35 weekly flex points and my activity points. It seems to give me back flex points for AP's, so is that 35 really 35 + AP's or is it a straight 35 and that's it for a week? Today is my last day of the week and I've actually had 36 food points and 35 activity points. The planner says my allowance is still 34 points (woo hoo party tonight!! - not). I peeked at the scale this morning and show a big loss so I guess I did ok, but I know down the line it's going to make a difference. -- the volleyballchick |

core is being very good to me
core is a good thing for travel as it keeps you away from all the treats but
allows you to not be restricted to the journal, I figure if I travel and do core a no gain is what I am aiming for and the point is to eat healthy and have less stress, I do think I couldn't do it without the travel thing as it does make me feel out of control without the journal, Lee Eddie-Type2 wrote in message ... I've been thinking about trying Core again for the summer to see what happens. I tried it for about 3 weeks and had a little loss with no gain. It was easy, but I felt out of control because I wasn't journaling and felt like I was eating far too many points. With the summer fruit available and going on a cruise at the end of this month, then going to Disney at the end of August, I think doing Core might be a good choice for me......I'm just not 100% sure yet. Keep us posted on your progress VB Chick - I may just join you on Core. Eddie Weight June05-359lbs Current Weight-282.2lbs Loss to date=76.8lbs Goal Weight-180lbs "Nunya B." wrote in message ...
