Default Pregnant Low Carbers: How much weight have you gained?

I'm at 16+ weeks and I have gained 3 net pounds.

Of course that was after a loss and then a gain of 6lbs in the last month.

Is your doctor or midwife concerned about such a small gain? When my wife
was pregnant, they were freaked out because she ended up losing 3 pounds
over the course of the pregnancy, no matter what or how much she ate. The
CNMP said they like to see at least 16 pounds gained, for the health of the
baby.

Women normally gain 3 pounds in the first 12 weeks. Right now, i can't remember
the normal weight gain for the second trimester.

Women who start their pregnancies overweight often lose weight instead of
gaining because they start eating healthier.

the weight gain itself isn't as important as the woman's nutrition.

congratulations to the OP on her pregnancy!

Well, I'm 12 weeks and have gained 7 lbs...not too happy about it, but I
quit smoking also, so I have been snacking more and have added lots of fruit
and some whole grains, so the weight gain is not a suprise, but this
pregnancy sure was! ; )

Do you mind telling me if you started out overweight/considered
normal/underweight?

I started out a bit overweight. My OB said I should gain no more than 20 -
25 lbs.

I started out a bit overweight. My OB said I should gain no more than

20 -
25 lbs.

I was at 167.5 for months, a fairly normal weight for my large frame and
height (5'8-1/2")
but those 7 lbs feel like 30 to me, nothing fits anymore because it's all in
my belly and I've become used to wearing fitted clothes.
I started Atkins in 2000 wearing a size 24 and weighing around 270 lbs and
was in a size 10 when I found out I was pregnant...wahhhhh!
