Default a question about Crystal Light

This might seem a bit anal but I'm just curious. Our local Costco had some
Crystal Light for sale, and since it's Costco I now have about a 6 month
supply of raspberry ice, lol. (for those that don't know Costco- it's a
gigantic bulk warehouse that has pretty good pricing) I was keeping on track
with drinking alot of water throughout the day, but now I really enjoy
having CL. So my questions are- (as silly as this might sound) does the CL
interfere with the way my body absorbs the water? Is too much aspartame bad
for you?

Thanks guys!

I drink CL frequently instead of plain water. Here are a few sites with
information on aspartame.

What a great question. I've been wondering the same thing as I drink vast
amounts of Ruby Red Grapefruit And Pink Lemonade CL. ;-)

My DH has been medically restricted to non-caffeinated fluids for hydration,
and he's allowed Sprite, so I'd assume that CL is as hydrating as water--or,
for that matter, anything that doesn't contain caffeine.

However, I do wonder about carbonated bevvies. DH's nutritionist advises
that the Sprite has to sit for a few minutes (until the bubbles subside)
before he can drink it because it can cause bloating.
Cheers

when i first started losing weight with weight watchers I didn't like the
taste of plain water so i bought crstal light and still lost. I have drank
diet pop for a long time as well and have had no problems. Also My mother
has drank diet pop for yrs and she is fine and has never had any problems
with drinking to much aspertame.

I can't see why it would. Though, I've drunk diet soda sweetened with
aspartame for years... and I find that I feel better hydrated and my
skin looks better when I am drinking just water. It may just be me.

It is easy to find folks who insist they lose better if they drink
any flavored liquid *in addition* to their water quota not *instead
of* their water quota. It's also easy to find folks who insist
they do fine either way. Clearly there's no harm in drinking enough
pure water to reach your quota and other liquids after that and it
may help.

Is too much aspartame bad for you?

For me personally? Nope. I do know several people who have
problems with aspartame. So it depends on you and you'll have to
try it and find out for yourself.

Bottled Crystal Light uses splenda/sucralose not nutrasweet/aspartame.
Far fewer reports come out about problems with splenda than with
aspartame but the number isn't zero.

Default ASPARTAME ( a question about Crystal Light)

This is just a reply to the aspartame issue...
Both my bf and I have bad reactions to aspartame. We usually end up with
nausea and cramps - I have actually thrown up on occasion because of having
drinks with aspartame. For some people aspartame can be a little hard on
the stomach. I can't even have a piece of gum w/o my stomach doing
flip-flops. :|
OTOH, my mom lives on aspartame. She has her packets of Nutrasweet and I
have my box of Splenda. Does anyone know of any diet pops that do not
contain aspartame? Sometimes having a can of pop is refreshing, but I
simply CANNOT have diet coke/pepsi/sprite/7-up/etc...

Diet Rite is the only pop I know that has splenda and not aspartame. I
think the original Tab still exists with saccharin in a few places (believe
it or not!)

I used to drink Tab when it had cyclamate in it.
