I think I've seen Arizona Iced Tea here but already mixed in cans? Or is it a powder you mix yourself? I'm looking for a powdered mix since I drink things like iced tea instead of water for my daily fluid intake. Buying canned drinks would get expensive very quickly. :-) I'll take a look for the Cool Brew teas the next time I'm grocery shopping. I don't mind making my own if I have to. At least that way it won't be so sweet. Thanks Nat! on 24 Aug 2004 11:13:56 -0700, (Nat TheBrat) wrote: Can you get Arizona Iced Tea there? Everyone once in a while, I buy Arizona Diet Peach Iced Tea. It's sweetened with Splenda. It's not bad. Personally, I prefer to brew my own, especially since I like unsweetened tea better. My local grocery stores stock several varieties of peach flavored teas. This summer, I began using Celestial Seasoning Peach Ice Cool Brew Iced Tea. I like it because it's quick to make and doesn't require boiling water. Takes about 5 minutes in cool water. I've also tried two other flavors of these Cool Brew teas: Raspberry and Lemon. I especially like the Raspberry. But YMMV. Nat 254/229/140 SB since 7/19/04 ----- Bev It's hard to beat the Crystal Light powdered drink mixes. For breakfast type flavors, they have ruby red grapefruit and orange/pineapple. Sugar free Tang is pretty good too, if you can find it. Any of these are cheaper than the Atkins mixes too. |

I agree, but aspartame is forbidden on most low-carb or any other diet plan
for that matter. That's why all the new LC products coming out contain Splenda. on 25 Aug 2004 05:17:29 -0700, (Chet Hayes) wrote: It's hard to beat the Crystal Light powdered drink mixes. Sorry, "forbidden" might be too strong. "Strongly discouraged" is a better
description. I'm on Protein Power and they advise in their book to stay away from it for various reasons. Atkins talks about some people experiencing weight-loss stalls on their website. I'm sure if you did a google search, you could find 100's of other sites advising against it. on Wed, 25 Aug 2004 20:37:01 -0700, "muffin" wrote: Bev, hadn't heard about aspartame being forbidden on most low-carb diets. Can you cite references? I might have to start carrying Splenda whenever I go out. Thanks. ----- Bev |

You're probably right. But it's by far the best sweetener (other than real
sugar) on the market right now. I've been using it since it was introduced in Canada in the mid-80's without any problems. In fact, I haven't used real sugar to sweeten anything other than in some baking recipes since then. on Thu, 26 Aug 2004 12:51:56 +0200, "Brian" wrote: The potential side effects of sucralose (Splenda) will take some years to be realised but you can bet your boots there will be some. ----- Bev |
