Default *sigh* I may have to try the shakes

Today and Tuesday I worked at my new job, and I have to get there at 9am.
At my other job, I usually don't have to be there until after 3pm. For the
new one, I get up at 7, and theoretically that should be enough time for
coffee, shower, and breakfast, but I'm soooooo not hungry that early. The
thought of food in the morning makes me feel kinda sick. No, I'm not
pregnant, just not an early eater. But, by 11, I am ravenous, so I may
have to try those low-carb shakes. I figure if I can stomach coffee in the
morning, maybe a shake won't be too hard to swallow, plus it would be
faster than cooking and I could drink it on the way to work. So, for anyone
with experience with these shakes, if you could recommend a brand and a
flavor that is the most bland and easy to swallow, I would much appreciate
it. )

I've been using the AdvantEDGE Chocolate Fudge (the kind that comes in metallic
paper containers) when I'm rushed in the morning. I got used to them quickly
and now I even find them sort of tasty.

I don't use them every day, but I've also used them when I've been stranded at
the office for lunch and I don't find myself binging when I get home.

Also, although it says not to freeze them, I've poured a shake into a plastic
bowl and frozen it. Makes a good fudgesicle-type dessert at night.

They work for me.

1) Atkins vanilla or 2) Atkins chocolate royal. I heard the keto mixes are
good but never tried them. Cans are quicker and convenient.

Why don't you try to pack something to snack on at 11? Forcing yourself to
eat when you're not hungry just seems counterproductive.

Steve

I think I need to eat, my stomach is always a bit queasy in the mornings,
not sure why, but I think I need some food in me for the energy. I feel
like I do anyway.

Two things:

First, the protein powder I use is Optimum 100% whey vanilla, tastes
pretty good and you can add heavy cream and splenda to it to make your
own shakes. Unfortunately, you really need a blender if you plan on
drinking it, so you'd have to make it at home and bring it in to work
in a thermos or something.

Second, cheesecake. Make them in the muffin tins ahead of time and
take one with you to work each day.

I have never been able to eat breakfast when I first get up and then I find
myself RAVENOUS at around 11 so what I do is mix 2 oz. of half and half, 1 1/2
scoops of protein powder (Vitamin Shoppe's house brand, choc flavor) and about
20-24 oz of coffeee in the blender with ice.

If we don't finish all the coffee or make a second pot I will make ice cubes
out of the leftover coffee for my next morning's shake.

I pour the whole blender-full into two Baja Fresh sippy cups and drink them on
the ride to work.

Luna,

I love the EAS AdvantEdge, especially the Chocolate Fudge. They carry them now
at Costco for under $15 for a 12 pack. Next to Costco, I've found
Walmart is the cheapest source. Check your Sunday paper, they often have
coupons for EAS in the coupon circular.

Hi Luna:

I've tried Atkins Chocolate and Keto Chocolate shake mixes.
I think the Keto Chocolate is a lot better.

I use a blender to mix and throw in 4 ice cubes. Its best
when its fresh out of the blender.

The Keto shake has a "creamier" texture and better taste.
The Atkins shake tastes just like chocolate flavored water.

I, too, prefer the Atkins shakes to the AdvantEdge ones. They are
thicker and tend to fill me up a little better.

My absolute favorite, though, is the Atkins Cafe au Lait. Tastes like
a frappucino. Great blended with ice if you have the time, but really
good just cold too.

btw -- Happy Birthday, Luna! Mine's tomorrow...30 for me, though.
