Just wanted to add. I was thinking to myself earlier today. I don't think I
coulda hacked going back to school. If I had that extra freaking 70 pounds of
weight on me. Its easier to walk, bend my knees. I am not out of breath as
much. I can keep up. I started out on the diet in a size 26-28. I can easily
wear a size 16 now.

The classmates, are so much younger than me. Some out of HS. Heck, I got a son
graduating this year. Anyways, I had them guessing my age, before I told them.
They guessed 30-32 years old. I did look my age, if not older before Atkins. I
am 38. That was a good feeling.. Them thinking I was younger than the 38. My
hair is shinier, my skin has cleared up, no more rahses that are embarrassing,
my nails look better too.

The talk here about fibromyalgia reminds me of when I got diagnosed with
depressio years back. Physical pain was one of the symptoms of my
depression.

And then I read on here that depression is one of the symptoms of
fibromyalgia.

I wonder if fatigue, depression, and fibromyalgia are really all part of
the same syndrome. Whether it's in the mind or the body or both doesn't
really matter. The mind is in the brain and the brain is part of the body,
so it's all connected anyway. Studies show that a good attitude improves
cancer survival rates, and that depressed people catch more viruses, so
even if fibromyalgia turns out to have a non-physical cause, that doesn't
mean it's not a real problem.

Some people with fibro have chronic depression. I don't think much more than
the ratio in a normal population.

Most of the rest of us have situational depression.

When we have our job, life, and everything else taken away from us, we become
depressed; anyone would. This is usually resolved when we are able to reach a
better quality of life (usually when sleep/pain issues are resolved or
lessened).

Don't worry about the classmates. Older students are generally much nicer
to deal with the kids right out of highschool. gosh, they get on my nerve.
Luckily, I don't teach any students below juniors.

OK, won't worry myself to death.

Yeah, lucky you. They have a little more experience once they get to you?

I tend to get along with the teenage crowd anyway. It just felt weird at first.
My way of putting it... Its never to late to get a education.
